Poly at 7 months?

Are the Polynesian studios usually available to book at 7 months? We would be traveling Thanksgiving, Christmas/NYE, Easter, or June. The threads that I’ve been reading say it has been available but I don’t think Poly was sold out then.

As far as I know, it is not usually booked out at 7 months, but it might be during those higher seasons (christmas break, thanksgiving break, spring break). I hope this helps.

I would not count on anything but your home resort for any holiday or spring break period. June, maybe. A year or so ago I was able to book a Poly lake view studio for February, even though our travel dates happened to include Valentine's Day. VGF and was already booked up, BLT was available.

Poly studios have in the past been open at 7 months out for Easter time and June (neither is actually a high DVC demand period). February likewise unless you are seeking the Thursday to Sunday of the Princess half marathon weekend (always the weekend after President's Day). In fact, Poly has been open at 7 months out for all times between the Monday after marathon weekend in Jan to the third week of Sep, DVC's low to moderate demand season at WDW, except for race weekends and Moonlight Magic nights.

During DVC's high to extremely high demand time of the year, which runs from late Sep to marathon weekend in Jan, the Poly studios have become difficult to get at 7 months out and are now nearly impossible to get for the specific times you mention, Thanksgiving and Christmas through New Years.

It is hard to say. Most of the times you mentioned [Thanksgiving, Christmas/NYE, Easter,] are busy times. Remember you can set up TWO wait lists so you could wait list a lake view studio AND a standard view studio to increase your chances. I would also be online at 8 am eastern standard time SHARP on the day your 7 month window opens and be ready to book! And , if it isnt available , set up your wait lists right away and then dont alter them. Altering them resets them as new wait lists and the oldest wait lists are matched up first [based on the availability].

Thanksgiving, Christmas and NY already have holes this year per RAT. If the members book switch the units may go to wait lists first.

There are not a lot of studio options to switch to for those dates, so it would have to be 1BRs or bailing out to Saratoga.

June is fine but don't dawdle. Be ready to book the day of your 7 month window. For fall, I'd be a lot more wary. I'm working on my last night of three for October and while I was able to get 2 nights by constantly checking, I'm concerned my third won't come through on the waitlist. I do have a backup already booked at Bay Lake but it would be really nice to not switch.

I own at the Poly and going this year at Thanksgiving week and studios are ALL sold out. I tried booking 10 months out and have been looking each day. I even wanted to check in on the Thursday before Thanksgiving and nothing is available. You just never know how it's going to be. Honestly, I was a bit shocked being 10 months out. Thankfully, most of the other resorts show availability so I am hoping to get lucky at 7 months to book something.

I'm checking in there next week and I booked it at 7 months.

My DD booked BLT at 11 months, got on the waitlist for Poly and VGF at 7 months and the Poly waitlist came through with 3 months to spare. 8 nights. This is for the 1st week of June but I'm still amazed. She is staying on the GFV waitlist just in case lightning strikes twice but will be perfectly satisfied with Poly.

Late January week at 7 months today and there were many days missing, including the Friday of the weekend we wanted. I was a bit surprised but also found many other places had the same thing.

Better but no guarantees. Poly recently sold out, so now there are a lot of owners vying for those studios while the bungalows stay available into the 7-month period. I have a feeling that it will be a much more difficult booking at 7 months than it has been in the past few years. However, June/July are not high-demand DVC periods (with the exception of maybe 4th of July week).

I got a standard studio for 6/29 to 7/4 at 7 months this year.

We got a lake view for the same week - including July 4th. We had to waitlist part of the stay, but it came through. We’ve had great luck with the waitlist when we do it early (at the 7 month mark), even during holiday weeks!

Thus far, the Poly studios have been open at 7 months out for all of June and July except potentially for time around July 4. Note that the time from July 7 to end of July is actually DVC's second lowest demand time of the year at WDW (February 1 to the Thursday before Presidents Day is the lowest) and chances should remain high for most of July.

I just waitlisted poly for 8/3 to 8/4 to extend our week. Put it in 6/22 got confirmation 6/24. I was shocked. Must have gotten good carma some where!
