Hi to all, I have just joined this forum and have been looking over the help that is provided to all. I'm sure that if I read it all, I would find this info, but, not having unlimited time and wanting personal stories, I decided to make this post.

DH, 12 yo nephew, and I will be visiting WDW in 8/08. 1st 3 days will be at BCV in a 1 bedroom villa. We will be moving for day 4 to the Poly for 3 nights before a 4 day cruise.:goodvibes

Some facts: While not mobility impaired, I have some mobility issues (knee and foot surgery) so being close to an elevator is an issue. But, with my nephew, I'd like to be close to the pool area so he can have a great time!:cool1:

AT THE POLY: I do want a balcony so the 3rd floor seems to be needed. I prefer not to have a monorail or parking lot view. Can anyone help by providing what building at the Poly might be best for us. I know that a request is just that and cannot be guarenteed. I also know that Disney usually does all it can to satisfy a request.:rolleyes1

AT THE BCV: Having stayed at the BWV, I know the location. But any recommendations for room locations? I usually prefer a higher floor - more chance of seeing Illuminations.:dance3:

Any opinions will be appreciated. Thanks, Cruisin' Aunt

:welcome: to the DIS!!

Jeepers, that's a lot of stuff to request. I don't know which building would best fit the bill. Niue is close to the main house and both pools. It has garden views. You could ask for a first floor (you'd get a nice patio, though not a balcony) in that building and probably have as little walking as possible.

Good luck and have a great trip!

Hmm... well I'd try and sitck with the following Buildings:
Samoa, Rarotonga (courtyard side), and Tokelau

Niue does not have a third floor or an elevator, so just be aware of that! The three buildings above will give you the closest proximity to both pools, Great Ceremonial House, boat dock, Marina, and even the bus stop.

I'm not super familiar with the views at the BCV but I do know that some rooms will give you views of Illuminations. Keep in mind that a good portion of those rooms will also give you a view of the service road that runs behind the resort. I haven't heard people complaining about the service road noise though!

I agree that you have a lot of requests there.

I would pick the one or two things most important to you and leave it at that.

If you try to request by longhouse at the Polynesian for instance and the longhouse you ask for is full, the assigner will have no idea why you asked for that longhouse.

Have fun. We love those resorts and will be back at both in May.:cool1: :cool1::cool1: :cool1:
