Before its rooms were de-themed, I would have said Yacht Club. I liked the nautical theming they used to have, but IMHO the rooms now look rather non-descript in the pictures I've seen.

I have to go with the Contemporary. When our children were growing up we took them to WDW yearly and alternated between the Polynesian and the Contemporary. The Magic Kingdom view room at the Contemporary is top of the list for me. Being able to sit on the balcony and view the Magic Kingdom fireworks is truly magical. Also, I wake up early and it was so much fun to sit on the balcony and watch the Magic Kingdom come to life. It was a special treat to watch the monorail being brought out of the barn every morning and set up for the day. In the afternoons while the kids napped, I would sit on the balcony and watch the monorail cruise around the loop, the boats cross back and forth on the lake, and watch the fireworks shoot up from the afternoon castle stage show. The rooms at the Contemporary are very large offering 2 beds and a nice size daybed. This worked great for us and gave everyone plenty of room. Our kids are grown now but as retired Florida residents, my husband and I still make it to WDW once or twice a month mostly day trips now. Some people say the Contemporary lacks a Disney theme but sometimes you need to look beyond that and create your own magical moments that work best for you and your family. :)

For us it comes down to theme and location. We had great stays at all of them, but recognize the age of our kids, din ing plans, pricing and availability.

I voted for GF. That was our first disney hotel. Nothing beats the location, watching fireworks or electrical pageant from balcony, and sitting in the lobby listening to the band or the pianist.
Close 2nd is Yacht club for me and Poly or AKL for the rest of my family. We love staying at Yacht club for its proximity to epcot--- so convenient!

Grand Floridian

Stayed there once for four nights. Stayed there another time for just one night with friends.

It just has a certain feel to it. It’s hard to explain. I’ll probably never stay there again because of the cost, But glad I did get to stay there a couple of times.

I have to go with the poly, Like them all but Polynesian is favorite.

Animal Kingdom Lodge always and forever, though I haven’t stayed at all of them. Have visited them all numerous times!

The Beach Club is our absolute favorite deluxe resort. Everything from the location to the pool, to the rooms. The restaurants are great. We love the short walk to Epcot and the boat ride to DHS. Walking around Crescent Lake at night is so nice and relaxing. Stormalong Bay is wonderful and so much fun! Even the lobby is amazing - the smell is my favorite smell! I love the light, fresh, beach theme and atmosphere. We walk over to YC and it is definitely more quiet and darker.

The Contemporary. Part of it is sentimental and part is from experience. We’ve stayed at the others and there is much to recommend them for different reasons. But my heart just flips a bit when I see the CR. We’ve had many happy moments there making for fond memories. We’re long-time DVC members and we love it. But we try to visit the CR on every trip for a meal, drink or just to shop. It’s a happy place for me.

Wilderness Lodge. Nothing like a peaceful evening sitting in a rocking chair by the indoor waterfall/stream to wind down after the madness of the parks.

This was a tough one! Can I have more than one vote? My choice is the Grand Floridian. I love how close it is to MK and enjoy the theme of the resort. In close second is Wilderness Lodge, especially during the Christmas season (simply magical). DW and I have a trip booked for BWI in June of 2019. If all goes well, there may be a new contender for favorite deluxe resort.

Wow, my fave AKL just moved into second. I like Poly too, but AKL is the only place we ever make sure we include several hours of resort time in our daily plans.

Animal Kingdom will probably always be my favorite because I'm an animal and nature lover, but Boardwalk is a very close second. BW's location is a huge plus, and I love the fun but relaxing vibe. BW's CMs are top notch, too, so, really, if it weren't for the animals, Boardwalk would be my favorite.

For all a longer trip with resort downtime I gotta say AKL so much to do and see. Otherwise WL but Im dying to try BC.

AKL for us. Love the atmosphere, animals, pools, restaurants, CMs, and Jambo giftshop. We are AP holders and visit frequently so we do spend a lot of time at the resort - nothing beats a cool glass of wine while sitting on your balcony and watching the animals. Bliss.

All the MK resorts are wonderful! SO hard to choose just one, but there is just something really special about the Poly ambience....
