425 heat and electric this month! House in Central MA, 1900 SF on a cement slab. We keep it at 62! Just reinsulated the attic. Old windows. I am wearing a wool scarf right now--no kidding. Every night, I can hear the heat blowing to try to keep the house at 62. I seriously think it's cheaper to spend a week at Disney in Feb (when I can turn down the heat at home) to turning it up so that I can be warm! At least we joke about it here

Gas was 220 and electric was about 80. House is a shade under 3900 square feet not including basement. 2 story and one year old. A part of the bill was my brother in law was staying with us which increase the gas for the water heater and his room. Should get better with just the 4 of us.

Our bill was around $400 (combined gas and electric) last month. And this was after bumping the thermostat down from last year's settings. We've now gone to 69 for wake up, 65 during the day, 68 in the afternoon/evening, and 63 for overnight. We have a 25 year old, 2500 sq ft house in suburban Detroit.

My gas bill was $375 and my electric bill was $75. My house is always cold (no real insulation) so it is really frustrating to have to pay so much money!

250 a month 12 months a year, its called budget billing! The amount adjusts 3 times per year, up or down based on actual usage. Next we will buy a new HVAC system this spring and save a projected 30-40% per month. Our current unit is 14 years old. Everywhere we have looked and researched tells us this savings per month will happen.

We are all electric. Can't believe how cheap it is.

Electric bill this month $190.00. All electric. 9 year old house, 1200 sq ft. Temp set at 78. Up about $50 from last month.

Our house is a large 17 year old home. We have electric radiant heat throughout. We always pay 125 a month for heat. We have a Cozy Heat fireplace for a backup. Love everything about it, no fuss, worries or mess.

The orginal section of our north Jersey home was built in 1903. We doubled the size (to 2300+ sq. ft) in 1978 with a 3 story addition. The original section had forced air oil heat, the addition had electric baseboard. Two years ago we converted the entire system to a 2 zone gas with central a/c.
We just got our latest gas bill yesterday: $389 for this month!! Electric was just about $100. Did someone say - "Florida (aka, warm) retirement"? Sounds like an economical plan to me!!

This should make everyone feel better....Our gas bill from last month was $940. Yep, you heard me.... Now we are looking at getting a Corn Burning Furnace. Can't afford to have a gas bill almost as much as a house payment!

We have an old farmhouse, built in 1866. To it, the people before us attached on an inground inside swimming pool. Then they covered it up with flooring and now we have a 2200 SF area attached to our 2500 SF home. So we have 2 furnaces. The space is nice, but we cannot afford the gas. Last month it was it was $700.

Our electric is about $100 a month.

I have a 1200 sq foot apartment. It's on the second of three floors, so I think we might be fairly well insulated by the apartments above and below. We keep our thermostat on 63º-65º. My gas and power bills combined have been about $100 for the past couple of months.
