Just curious to know what you guys look for when choosing a restaurant at WDW. Whether it's TS or CS, what is your first priority?

The food at most WDW places is okay---we have better examples of many genres here in our little town. But, it's the experience that makes things unique.

This is why, for example, I really enjoy Sci Fi, despite the fact that it could be charitably described as pub food.

I voted for atmosphere, I love being in Disney so I love to eat at the entertaining, "Disney" type resturants. The food is pretty much the same, unless you venture to places like V & A or California Grill.

You don't have my top priority on the list - LOCATION! A restaurant could have the best menu and atmosphere in all the World, but if it is at Old Key West I'm not likely to make the trip. I love Boatwrights, but we only go there if we're staying at POR/FQ. We plan our park days first, then look over the menus for restaurants convenient to where we'll be each day to decide on ADRs because I don't want to waste my time on long bus rides just for dinner.

Location wins for me, too. If I'm at the MK, I'll look only at the MK and MK resort area (monorail line, WL and FW) restaurants for that day. If I'm at AK, I'll look only at AK and AKL restaurants for that day. I don't want to waste a lot of time getting from Point A to Point B during my trip. Luckily, there are enough good restaurants in the parks and resorts that we have plenty of restaurants to consider regardless of which park we're visiting.

I usually plan out by location, but since we always get a car I get to pick some of my favorite resort restaurants as well.

My DH...could care less where we eat...his only comment when I ask him where he'd like to eat on the next trip is, "I don't care as long as there are characters there."

He's a kid at heart.

My vote is for Location, too. We try to stick in the area, although we will do one park in the morning, and another late afternoon/evening, and do dinner in that park.

Of course, we have our must-do places every trip, and we try to do 2-3 new places each trip.

Wow - tough poll. I can't tell you how many times I changed from Exotic Choices, to Atmosphere to Customer Service. Ultimately I went with the service choice since poor service can ruin the experience and no amount of exotic food or atmosphere is going to compensate for that.

I voted for theming, but GOOD food was not an option. I am not necessarily an "exotic" food eater, but I like tasty food.

I plan my ADR's around where I'll be that day - not the other way around. The result is that I have tried VERY FEW resort restaurants and have only eaten at 2 of the Epcot restaurants. However, living in New York, I have a lot of good restaurants close to home, so I'm not willing to sacrifice park time to travel to eat, kwim? For me everything is secondary to location.

I voted for Theming or Atmosphere, but my first priority is LOCATION !

I eat great food everyday.

Disney has something I only see on vacation - Theming & Atmosphere, give me something to look at ..
...that I don't see everyday :scared1:

Another vote for theming and atmosphere.

I like to dine places that are unlike any place we can go around here.

Good food is our top priority. After that - atmosphere.

This equals a lot of signature restaurants and not a lot of counter service, which is OK by us! ;)

I voted for Theme and Atmosphere- although, I would have voted for "Good Food" had that been an option... but it still would've been close.

I adore Sci-fi and Marrakesh- but it's more about the atmosphere than the food at both places.
