Topsiders. Can't wait to sit outside after our cold Ohio winters. The one thing I really like about Parrot Cay is the "real" ice cream. Not soft serve. Will have to run in just for that.

We prefer PC for the reasons already mentioned....and it is just more stress free and prettier (I love the tropical feel)

I am pretty sure they did have chicken fingers on the kids buffet line at PC at embarkation.

We did topsiders on our first cruise. This next cruise we are doing PC. It was so crowded at Topsiders. I want to try different things on this trip.

We have tried to go to Parrot Cay on our last two cruises and were sent up to Topsiders. We really wanted to go to Parrot Cay. They told us it was priority for Disabled and Elderly first.

I've only been on one cruise, but I voted for Topsiders/BBB. DH and I sat outside to eat and got to enjoy the view for awhile. Being from New England and cruising in February though, we didn't want to miss one minute of sunshine!!!

That is false....Parrot Cay is certainly not just for priority or disabled!!!! Wow, I never heard that before. We also have been "ushered" towards the elevators for Topsiders on a few of our cruises but politely said we wanted to dine in Parrot Cay and we never had a problem.

We usually are ushered down the hall to Parrot Cay (I noticed when were boarded earlier in the day we were sent to PC and later in the day to Topsiders)

PC does have chicken fingers. My DS gets them every time. :)

We went to Topsiders for the first 2 cruise, PC the last and plan to stick with PC. They seat you so no searching for a table and they get you your drinks so you don't have to go get a soda from the drink station before or after you've gone through the Topsiders buffet line. Also, Topsiders can be very windy outside and if you can't find a seat inside your stuck. My kids are also picky. We went to PC found our table and when my DH and I went up to the buffet my kids ran up to Plutos and grab burgers to bring down and eat with us. It was really relaxing to sit and go over the Navigator without the little hassles of Topsiders.

I did notice that they do turn people away when it gets crowded. They were giving people the option to wait though.

Topsiders....we're from N.W. Indiana and Always sail in Nov./Dec......can't get enought of the sun.

It's Topsiders for us! Eating outdoors just feels like vacation! :sunny: We tried Parrot Cay once and, while it was fine, it just didn't have the same atmosphere as eating up on deck!

parrot cay tends to be less crowded because they tend to tell people to go to topsiders, we were victims of going to topsiders on our first cruise and it was so crowded. Our 2nd and 3rd time cruising we ate at parrot cay and it wasnt crowded at all and thought they had better food. :)

Thanks everyone for the great replies. Do you think we'll have a problem getting into Parrot Cay with a large party (17)?

Your right about the cm directing people away from PC. We were told they were to crowded, that we "had" to go to TS, ect. It was all a snow job. For whatever reason they do not perfer people to go to PC. When we politly insisted they always let us thru, but what a hassle on the first day. I have cruised 4 time and have always ate at PC dispite they're warnings I have always walked straight in and had a seat. I vote PC. I really do not care for TS or BBB for breakfest, lunch, or dinner. Just my opinion.

ps: Truthfully though, I'd rather be stuck going to TS or BBB if it ment I was on the boat!!!!!!!!!!!!!

On our first (and only cruise) we went to Parrot Cay. Since I love classy sit down restaurants verses buffets, PC was a wonderful experience. I think you're in a little bit of shock just to FINALLY be there .. .LOL. We didn't stay long b/c we were so excited to see EVERYTHING. We had a group of 18 people from 4 to 55 and we didn't have any challenges with seating at PC. They were so nice and pushed tables together for us.

We'll probably try it the same again in November ;)

Have a great day!

Hi to above threader.....WHEN ARE YOU GOING? We are on the 7 Day Eastern on November 12th (myself, DH, DD (8 y.o), and DS (5 y.o). We are sooo excited! First cruise! :cool1:

DIS NURSE from Oregon :flower:

Plenty of Shrimp in PC... NOt sure about Topsiders .... We had a party of 11, and had absolutely no problem in PC... They have large large tables put together.....

Enjoy the shrimp... :goodvibes

We were directed to PC - boarding early. It does seem that they direct you to Parrot Cay first - than as that fills to Topsiders - and probably after a little while Topsiders has filled and the early boarders who started in Parrot Cay are done, someone radios down and they start filling Parrot Cay again. Maybe sometimes they switch - but they are definately trying to control crowds.

You can eat at either location, but if they are directing to one or the other, you may find your choice more crowded (or just not ready yet).

PC because the last time we were at Topsiders, it took us a long time to find a place to sit. It was a madhouse. The food does not matter all too much because we always have early seating so we would be eating in a couple of hours anyways.
