Wondering if it would be worth doing for me and my dd6 when i go in Nov. We are staying at the Poly, so it is convienent, but expensive.. I am not normally a "dinner show" type of person, but this looks somewhat interesting.. and the food sounds good..
Feedback please! :goodvibes

This show is ok, but if you want to do something with your daughter you should do the hoop de do instead. Much more child orientated and fun.

My neice took her triplets to the Luau and they had an absolute blast....alot of kids go to this show and love it. They also enjoyed the food. One of the triplets did not like some of the food (fussy) and the waitress went and got some macaroni and cheese and chicken fingers for him....

Oh, yes.. We already will be doing the HDDR, we do that for our thanksgiving dinner each year, believe it or not.. :rolleyes1 I don't care for it - i mean, the food is good, but i am NOT a dinner show person - especially when it's the SAME show every year... i can pretty much tell you the whole thing. ;) But, my inlaws (who we are going with) LOVE it, have been going for 25 years now!! (YES, in a ROW!! :sad2: ) and they pay for the whole trip, so i put on a smile and have fun ;) - Let's just say, the Sangria is flowin' that night! :lmao:

I would say this is a one time thing. Our family did when on the eal plan. I wouldn't go again but it was worth one visit. I didn't really like the whole story - play of the show. I would rather have seen dancing that said what kind of dancing this was and what it meant.

We lOVED the food when we went. And I was worried, because the reviews are not very positive. DD got to learn to hula, and the fire dancing and hula dancers were good. The story was very silly.

My DH and 2 kids 4 and 6 at that timereally enjoyed it the first time we went had great seats right in the front. My DH really liked the food the kids chose to pick of kiddie menu. the flame thrower guy was the highlight of the show and the kids loved to dance. Our second trip we had seats in the second level in the back and had a waitress with her tray right in our faces so that was our last luau. Definately worth seeing one time. Call for ressie early I believe you will get better seating. We also go in Nov. every year.

I voted take it or leave it, because I don't consider it a "must do", but we really enjoyed it.

If you decide to go, make your reservations asap. Your table assignment is based on when you make your reservation. We made ours just under 6 months out and we were front and center, which makes a world of difference from being way in the back. My kids (2.5 and 8 at the time) LOVED it, especially the fire dancers! The show starts out a little slow, but after dinner, gets really good.

The food was pretty good, too. I've heard some people say their chicken was dry, but ours was nice and moist.

Well, i know now, the seating has changed, just as the HDDR.. you have to pay more to be front and center now.. There are 3 different prices/teirs.. I think i have decided i am going to try it with DD.

Take it or leave it...the best part by far was the beefcake men I couldn't take my eyes off the entire time. I'm sure DH felt the same about the women shaking their grass skirts the wholel show.

I really enjoyed the rice, salad, and bread, however. The chocolate lava thing was GROSS! DH and DS ate their fair share of chicken.
