The Question is:

Should Innoventions be removed and the large amount of space that it uses, be used for another attraction, whether it be a dark ride or any other type of attraction? The space that Innoventions sits on takes up a large amount of space that a great attraction could fill.

I've always felt they really need to do something better with that space.

I voted no, because I think Innoventions "could" be exactly what EPCOT is supposed to be about. That being said, it certainly could use more frequent updates. I think the new fire house thing is really cool, and believe it or not, Innoventions was the favorite Future World place of the young children in our group (5, 6 and 10) last Janary. In a park that some people think doesn't have enough for little ones (not sure I agree), it would be a shame to loose an attraction that they enjoy.

No..

I like how there isnt a major "attraction" right in the center of the park. In EPCOT, all the major lines are sprawled around the edges of the park, making the center "hub" an easy enter-exit.

I voted "No, I love Innoventions" but I wanted to add further explanation:

I think the theme/concept of the Innoventions Plaza is great! I liked the idea of this type of walk-through technology plaza when it was Communicore and I still like the idea. I think it goes very well with Futureworld :)

The problem is, it hasnt been executed properly in recent years. I too have noticed that it has basically just been turned into advertising for present products that are not really cutting edge at all. Yeah, im a video game fan..but i dont need to see video games that I am quite aware of in a place thats supposed to be about cutting edge technology pointing to the future. Also the plaza was just so empty when i was there the past time (this past December) and i felt it was like an empty trade show or something.

If they just pay more attention to what it could be by its name, then it can be dramatically improved and not so much a waste of space.

I also dont think another huge ride is needed there, and I fear that if another huge ride WAS put in...it would probably just be another themeless thrill ride. Id rather see Innoventions become what it could be.

I agree Dreamflight - you said it much better than I did, but that's how I feel too. I don't want them to get rid of it, I want them to make it what it's supposed to be.

Thanks :)

And I think you said it extremely well yourself too in your earlier post (and your most recent):

"because I think Innoventions "could" be exactly what EPCOT is supposed to be about"

That was very well said and i completely agree :goodvibes

As for Innoventions, hopefully it can indeed be made into what it was intended to be (that is, judging by its name what it was intended to be).

The way I personally see the details of the Innoventions concept (kinda how I would "plan out" what is displayed), Innoventions should reflect a balance between "today" and "tomorrow". Things that have been created but are still in the early stages so we can enjoy some of the actual use of the technology now, but the real charm is the potential for where it will go as the technology gets mastered.

I cant give a good example of the technology right now, but imagine like MP3 players as they were a few years ago. Yeah, they existed and could be used, but they still had a long way to go (and i guess they still do for that matter). So people can look at them and say: "Wow, thats cool those have been made" but at the same time they can say: "I can't wait til those become even better and a part of our daily lives". And by the time they ARE a part of our daily lives, then they no longer should be in display in Innoventions, but rather, the next prototype technology should be.
