For some reason I am one of the lucky ones who gets PIN #'s. My mom also gets them too since she has travel with us on a couple of trips, 12/2001 and 11/2005.

I got my first special offer after our first trip in 2001. We came home on 9/1/01. After 9/11 I got a postcard stating a special rate of $39.00 for a value resort for dates in December. My mom and I decided to take my son to Disney again so we could see the resorts all decorated and see the Mickey Mouse Very Merry Christmas using this special rate. I have gotten offers since via mail and email.

I got the 40% one off too by getting a postcard, but unfortunatley the dates don't work for me.

I just got today's mail and got another postcard for $79.00 value (20% off) for 4/15 - 5/24 and 5/28 - 6/2/07

I went twice in 05 and twice in 06 and I got a PIN code.

Ironically, I was only planning on one trip in 07 but with the pin I'm now doing 2 trips in 07.

This will be our first trip to WDW as a family (have gone DL a few times but never stayed on site) , I did not get a PIN in the mail but when I called they had one under my name.
I did however have a trip booked in 2006 that I had to cancel.

We went twice a few years back, then twice last year and planning on twice this year.
I am just about on every Disney thing you can think of. I order from their catalog, I'm in the video club, have an account on the disneyworld website, ask for every or anything related to Disney, been doing it for years, but have never received a pin.
Maybe one day, but I'm fortunate enough to live in Florida and my DH is in the military, so we do get some discounts. Certain times of the year(on hotels). Definately can't complain and we're going back...Why????......because it's Disney Baby!!!!!!!

Thanks, I tried a couple usernames and they were already taken. DH always says my Grumpy shirt is me, but seem like one of us are always Grumpy so I decided to go with it...we're all a little Goofy as well, but thought Grumpy sounded better

First PIN recieved this year. Trip was already booked but we used it for the last part of our split stay. Interesting poll results so far...

I went 3 times in the last year - rented points the first time, stayed on-site under my name the other two. I received the pin for the feb-march offer (was it 20%? 30%? something like that) in january, the day before my most recent trip.

My mother has travelled with me each time, and also went two other times in recent years with my brother's family. She has never had a reservation in her name,, though. She received two pins - one came last fall, i don't remember the details. Then she got the 40% off one, so we are using that together. We have received non-pin mailings in her name at my address (dvc, etc.). The pin offers went to her address though.

And what did we learn from this poll? Nada...

Only Disney knows why they do what they do!

Actually, what we learned was that (so far) twice as many people who did not receive a pin answered the poll compared with people who did get a pin.

It tells me that the more often you go the less chance you have of receiving a pin.

You can't really make that call because only a small handful of people participated in the poll out of the 100s, 1,000s, 10s of thousands who go to disney... that might have (or not) received a pin.
