When the AZ and UT schools have fall breaks is a big topic on these boards for people planning October trips. Can you help me & others by telling us when your fall breaks are? Thank you!

I don't know about AZ and UT but in Northern California ours is Sept, 27-Oct,15th but that is for year round schools our regular schools don't have fall break until the 21st-25th of Nov but it is more of Thanksgiving break.

We don't have fall breaks either. I had never heard of that. My boys and I are at one school and DH works at another. Neither of them has a break in the fall. Just Thanksgiving. DH has what is called Ski Week in Feb at his school, but then he has to go longer in to June while we are out at the end of May.

Northern Utah is Oct. 20-21, Southern Utah is Oct. 20-24. Yep, we're from Utah and we're coming to DL Oct. 19-23. Can't wait!!

We are in Eastern Contra Costa County (Northern California Bay Area). Our local school districts are on a modified traditional calendar and get a 2 week Fall break (as well as a 2 week spring break in March). This year the break is the weeks of Oct 3rd and 10th. Many, many people in our area head down to Disney sometime during that 2 week break.

We have our Thanksgiving in Canada on Monday the 10th of October. The schools are usually out the Thur/Fri and the Monday of course. A long weekend for most.

Vail School District in AZ is year round. We have two to three weeks for break depending on your children's ages. If your child is in Kindergarten through 12th grade you get the last week of September and October 3rd-7th off this year. Then the High School goes back to correspond to "sports schedules" with other districts, but our Kindergarteners through 8th graders also have the week of the 10th through 14th off.

Love the fall break. At first I was like fall break but last year we used it for DL...may again this year. Anyway, our girls go from August 2nd week til mid May. They have a week break in OCt and one in March for spring.

When we were at the park last year we ran into a family from a CA school that was also on break for the week. They said that it was some special thing(can't remember why) but they don't get it evey year. So, don't know if any CA schools will be out this year or not.

I didn't vote (because we're from the UK and I don't suppose enough of us Brits come over to affect crowd levels) but we have the week of 24th October...so that's when we are coming over to DL

Thanks for the thread/poll, it's useful as I've been really hoping for really low crowd levels so that we can do DL in a day and get to see more of California while we are over. Very excited, even though my countdown is still too long!

Don't know if there's enough Hawaii people to make a difference in DL crowds but the entire state public school system is off the first week of October, 3-7 this year. We picked the dates before we had the schedule (since DVC requires 1-year planning, and so do our bosses!), but it looks like it'll be crowded that week! Oh well, still love the weather!

My boys attend a charter school in AZ & they actually have 2 weeks off.

Oct. 10th till the 21st.

Here in Northern California we attend a year round school, so this year our fall break will be from Oct.3 to the 14th.
Always a perfect time for DL!

Are you noticing what I'm noticing? Based on the poll votes it definitely looks like the first half of October at DLR would naturally be busier because of these Fall breaks (among other things, of course)...which totally makes sense with that PIN code offer I got that is only good for the second half of the month. I think DLR is definitely expecting larger crowds up until mid-month, and lighter crowds in the latter part of the month.

Sherry, I am noticing a trend. Makes sense when you consider your promo code offer and also (in my opinion) the dates the Entertainment Rate is being offered at HoJos. This poll is really helping me get a good picture of October and zone in on when we want to attend. I can't believe I am worrying this much about it, but I really want to "redeem" DLR in my DH's eyes!

No Fall break for us in Washington, kiddos don't generally go back to school until after Labor Day .... but ... we will be creating our own break and just taking them out of school Our self made "Fall Break" Oct 8-15
