Poll: IOA vs MK

MK for me, if it had been US v MK I would have chosen US.

OK, the Magic Kingdom? That's the Ultimate!!! You should compare the two Studio's. Orlando is about the Magic Kingdom.

I voted for IoA simply because of the thrill rides they offer. I enjoy the MK since they have some of my favorites rides like HM, PoTC, Space Mountain and BTMR. But for pure thrills, it's IoA for me! :teeth:

I was really bored at the Magic Kingdom. Aside from the Haunted Mansion, there was nothing that I would ride twice. Some of the rides were cute, but others just weren't great. I like IOA much better.

To be honest comparing these is very difficult as they are so different.

MGM v Universal is a good example as they are both based around the Movies in a way.

I do love IOA, but my son has such a good time at MK I had to choose that, however overall his and my favourite is US.

Can't say. I like both equally.

Given a choice between the two, I'd pick IOA.

But I had to stop reading the poll thread after the first page. I get very tired of hearing the WDW lovers in the other boards bashing the Uni parks. "No magic", "It's for teens", "nothing there for me", all comments that sicken me, because there is magic at Uni - some people are simply too thick to see it unless it comes packaged with Mickey Mouse on it.

And yes, USF and IOA are both geared toward an older audience, and have less for 4-year olds to do than MK. But then, the same can be said of Epcot, MGM, and AK - and many people with really young kids DO say those things about the other Disney parks - "half-day park", "doesn't really hold my interest", "kids found it boring", "Disney really screwed up with this one." Rubbish!

MK is my least favorite of the WDW parks. I love MK, I just love the other parks more - but what the heck is it about MK that turns people into fanatical, drooling devotees who can't seem to find any joy, any happiness, or any fun in any other park in the world? Why does MK inspire people to cast aspersions on the other parks, particularly the Uni parks, some of which are not only baseless but can be downright nasty?

I guess it must be the childhood thing - MK makes you feel like a kid, which to me is all about uninhibited fun and wonder (which is what Walt always aimed for), but to some people being a kid is all about calling other kids ca-ca-poo-poo-heads.

LOL! My thoughts exactly.

My sentiments exactly. You're a prophet!

MK and the whole Disney thing is great and I LOVE it. But sheesh, I have a great time at IOA and USF too.

I'm a newbie here, and your post is the first one I've read that made me have to speak out! Thanks. :Pinkbounc

I honestly don't think the two can be compared apples to apples.

To me, the MK is about magic...getting whisked back to a time that feels easy and laid back. You forget about your job and responsibilties for just a little while. The MK is my favorite of the 4 WDW parks, but I love something about each one of them!

I've never been to IOA, so I won't bash it, but I can't say I'd go there. I am not a thrill ride person at all. I've been to Universal Studios once, but that was so long ago. It was fun, and I liked it. I'd like to go back, but my Orlando priority is WDW.

Really? Then why is it so terribly outdated, poorly maintained and lacking in attractions, specifically compared to Disneyland, Tokyo Disneyland and Disneyland Paris?

You should compare the two Studio's.

You'd be doing MGM a brutal disservice.

Orlando is about the Magic Kingdom.

:happytv:

I voted IOA because that is my kids favorite choice. I like both the same for different reasons.
