So someone brought forward an old poll from 9 years ago, and while I don't think melding the two polls would give an accurate reading of what people think today, I do think it's a valid poll. SO....here it is in a new version to see if we members feel the same way we did almost a decade ago.

VOTE FOR AS MANY ANSWERS AS YOU LIKE. This is a multiple response poll.

O.K. In order of importance to me:
1. Theming
2. Room Size
3. Point Cost
4. Parking

A pool is a pool, I don't pool hop, as long as I can bob around in water I'm happy! Location not important either, as long as I'm in Disney/Orlando in the "resort" area, I'm happy! Restaurants, not important either, I cook in the villa, I eat off-site, otherwise I take my car or bus to get to the Turf Club, Todd English Blue Zoo, I don't have to be close by!

What is important to me is theming, June is about parks, water parks and I love OKW and BWV for that. August is about relaxation and outlet mall shopping & OKW as well as SSR & AKV works for that too. This year we did a 2br at Kidani and loved it much more than Jambo. I don't care for WLV, BLT and the BCV as much as I like the others! I always bring friends and family, always book a 2br, so at times point cost is a consideration. Bottom line I also prefer condo over hotel accomodations and like parking in front of my villa.

In the end, when I want to go, I'll take whatever they have, using whatever points I can beg, borrow or transfer in!

For us right now, points is the #1 thing we look at in regards to how many people are going with us. We are still trying to stretch our points because we have gone every year at least once. That will change soon I'm sure. After that we have been trying to stay at different places so we learn which one we like the best.

For us it would be 1) Location 2) Theming 3) Points

We have always preferred to be able to have quick access to one or more parks via walking or monorail. Although we would want to try all the DVC resorts they most likely would be split stays so at least half the trip we can have a location closer to the theme parks.

Theming is second, just depends on what we are in the mood for that trip. We can see how each of the DVC resorts would be appealing at different times depending on what type of trip we were taking; more parks or more relaxing.

Points is always a consideration, especially if there is more than one trip planned for the year. We did LV at BLT in June so we would have more points for our November trip.

I will enjoy reading everyone's thought's, great poll. :)

only one- location. Got to be able to walk to EPCOT (which is why I bought at BWV).

I had to open this thread to see who you were referring to as "the ancient one"!!! lol

Location seems to be the most important one to us, as we try to keep things fresh by theming our trips. Some trips are mostly MK, some are resort-dining heavy, and some we park hop like crazy.

I chose Theme, pool and point value.

I would like my family to try different resorts so I can't say I always book for the above reasons but the pool is a big draw as well as theme. I don't think there is a resort that I don't like the theme. They are all very different and special in their own way.

Room size. DD is now 11 and wants her privacy -- plus she gets up <way> too early for DH and me. We did a Kidani 2BR last trip, and that was a little too big. Next trip home to SSR we may go back to a 1BR or go for the 2BR...and that's where points come into play. Our vacation habit is showing about every 18 to 24 months with a trip home, 200 points with banking and borrowing is (so far) serving us well.

Love my DVC....Thanks to my guide...he who shall not be named. :worship:

For me in order of importance:

1. Theme
2. Restaurants
3. Points
4. Location
5. Room Size

I like the theming of almost all DVC resorts, but AKV just feels like home when I walk through the front door. The theme suits me perfectly!

Restaurants are also very important since I don't cook in the villa and usually prefer to eat breakfast and dinner at the hotel I'm staying at.

Points are important since I try to take at least two trips per year to WDW. I don't want to use all of my points on just one trip.

I'm not too particular about the location since I think the bus service is pretty good most of the time. I usually stay at AKV, but I am going to stay at BCV for the first time this October for the F&W Festival. I think I will really enjoy being so close to Epcot's back entrance. When I went to F&W two years ago, it was a little tiring walking through Future World every day to get to the festival when I knew I wasn't going to visit any attractions in Future World.

I voted for theme and pool. The kids spend about a third of the trip in the pool. I figure no matter where you are your not going to be next to all the parks so location tends to take a back seat with us.

Room decor is a big deal to me so I guess that comes with theme.

Location does not matter to me at all, I go to all parks and water parks and Downtown Disney.

I guess I should say what I chose as well. I put high importance on room size, point cost, and theme. It's why I really am bummed about the refurb at OKW. Location isn't important to me as long as I'm in Disney, and restaurants are places I can easily get to no matter which resort I'm at. In fact, I know I'll usually be at Turf Club, Artist Point, Jiko and Teppan Edo at least once each trip. I can do those no matter where I stay.

LOL!:lmao: I was referring to the ancient thread!

I'm in the "It Depends" camp. It depends upon what the focus of our visit is and who and how many may be coming with us.

Location...I love being able to walk to Epcot or Studios. I love the BWV for this reason.:thumbsup2
