Rethinking my plan. Would you rather:

1. Arrive Sat afternoon(4/21) Relax at DLR pool and no park. Sunday- Full day at DL- maybe paint the night at dva, Monday- Full Day at DCA, Tues- Full day at DL, Weds- full day at DCA, Thurs- leave for airport at 10:30am.

2. Arrive Sunday afternoon(4/22) head to DL or DCA around 5pm. Monday- full day at DCa, Tues- Full day at DL, weds- full day at DCA, Thurs- half day at DL then leave around 2:30 for airport.

So, four full days, 2 travel days

Or

2 half days, 3 full days

My mom hates doing anything on a day when we leave so she is voting for option 1. But I hate to give up a slow thurs morning for a crazy Sunday. What do you think? The ways the flight work, these are our options.

I would vote for plan 1 too-some of the entertainment you want to see may only be going on during the weekend.

Thursday morning certainly may not be slow!

Sunday may not be crazy.

Option 1 is better for a few reasons.

Also a vote for #1 - Fastpass availability will be better, and you'll have access to some of the weekend offerings. Sundays aren't that bad, really.

Thanks everyone! I think we will do #1! Hoping Sunday is not ridiculous!
Weekends are really not any more ridiculous that weekdays, for the most part. People are very hung up on "avoiding weekends" and make the weekdays way more crowded as a result, in my opinion. Sunday afternoons do get quite crowded, but Sunday mornings are frequently pretty empty... I sometimes go first thing Sunday morning and sometimes first thing Monday morning - 90% of the time, the Monday is WAY more crowded first thing.

I believe 4/22 is spring Dapper Day, so I imagine it will be pretty busy in the parks that day. On the plus side, if you go for Dapper Day you can book the special Dapper Day rates at the Disneyland Hotel. We did this for fall Dapper Day and the rates were great. (Beware that these rates are noncancelable, non-transferable, you lose one night if you cancel.)

This would change my vote. I’d try to fly in Monday. Tuesday m-Friday full park days come home Saturday. That’s always what we do. Lol this trip isfy Monday depart in 2 Tuesday’s (cheaper flights).I avoid Monday’s. It’s one of the busiest days in the park IME.
