I agree with a PP; NEVER use a preposition to end a sentence with!:snooty:


That was just an example. It is perfectly acceptable, regardless of what your English teacher told you, to end a sentence with a preposition if it is used to clarify the intent of the sentence.
 
i don't really pay attention if i'm talking to a friend or writing on a forum such as this or anything, but if it's schoolwork, then i pay attention. i also edit the school paper, so i have to watch out for it there.
 
I have written so many college papers where I can't end sentences with prepositions that now I can't do it when I talk.
 

Yes, and I'm very conscious about this habit, and when others do it. I think it sounds okay in speech, but I try to avoid it in formal writing.
