I know some of the other brands are made overseas and there was concern fairly recently about lead in them. Luckily DD is past the crayon eating stage but we still stick with Crayola.
Crayola! My mom's running joke is when we put her in the home, we have to get her the BIG box of Crayola, and only Crayola, crayons. The one with the sharperner in the side. lol
Crayola Crayons! There's nothing like 'em. I love the start of school because it gives me an excuse to wander down the school supply aisle and SNIFF. I also buy a new box of 96 (yep, the one with the sharpener in the back) just for me. Peek in my window sometime and check to see if I'm groovin on the scent of my new crayons!
When Isabella came to us 20 months ago the one thing I didn't need to go out and buy for her when we stocked the house with little girl stuff was crayons. I shared.
I remember my dad coming home from work with coloring books and crayons for me and my brother. While I loved that he brought us fun things and was thinking of us I hated that the crayons weren't Crayola. The other brands were always waxy and didn't look or feel the same when you used them.
I even remember entering the name the color contest they had in 1993 when they came out with the 96 count box.
I am a kindergarten teacher's aide and you would be amazed at the different brands that the kids bring to school........ then they get all upset that "my crayon doesn't work right"..........
Those other brands just aren't the same.... waxy, and cheap !
