Political: We couldn't find WMD's...Let's sell 'em some !

Getting back to the OP...
Of course we should provide arms to the new Iraqi army/civil defense. Would it be better to allow a fledgling Democracy to try to defend itself against terrorists and rogue nations with Soviet era weapons? I,m sure the USA would not have stood much of a chance defending our freedom if it was not for the arms and aid of foreign nations during our inception.

New Iraq is now Ally of the US. Why not sell them weapons to defend themselves. What would you do have the freaking French sell them weapons

It would be helpful when you cut and paste stories to provide links....

If that's all you were trying to do then why didn't you say so? Was it necessary to call someone a "jerk?"

Mmmmmm, please show me the public thread where I called you a name? Unlike you, I don't go around calling people "jerks."
"public thread" ? Maybe not...You tend to stick to lowlife private messages.

Oh, and it's now been 24 hours since the initial "report" of these nukes was released...Wonder why no other news service (AP ? Reuters ? AFP ?) has picked up on it ? I mean, if true, this is going to be a huge, international news story...Bigger than anything since the fall of Baghdad....So, why hasn't anyone but the Washington Times reported on it ?

Forty-eight hours now.

"Oh where, oh where can my little nukes be
"Oh where, oh where can they be.........................."

Btw, I believe the Iraqi prime minister called in the U.N. nuclear people to verify that there are no nukes not to prove the existence of nukes. Something or other to do with lifting of sanctions............not that those sanctions slowed down Halliburton, but I digress.

We deposed Saddam and Iraq is now in the process of rebuilding its society, including the military, and there is a chance that Iraqis will be the first people in the Arab Middle East to have a consensual government.

On the other hand we could have left Saddam in power (despite Irasq being in a shooting war with the US AND despite his numerous contacts with al qaeda AND despite his past desire to give Osama sanctuary in Iraq). If Saddam was still in power, we wouldn't have to sell him WMDs. He was well on his way to building his own. What else was he going to build with all that uranium he was trying to get from Africa?
