Polar Express ?

My kids watch Polar Express all the time (in fact we're planning to go see it on IMAX 3D). I don't find it scary, nor do they, but I've heard others say they don't appreciate the ghost on top of the train. Honestly, I doubt that many kids even realize he's supposed to be a ghost - heck, it took me a while to figure it out myself, LOL. Otherwise, it's just a neat movie for most. :thumbsup2

I haven't seen it, but my dad took my nephews to see it last year (ages 7 and 4 at the time) and the younger one was absolutely terrified and still is. The ghost on top of the train. He is afraid of trains now. But it totally depends on your kids and how easily they startle. My son's preschool showed it last week (he's 4) and he completely loved the movie. I want to go rent it this weekend for us to watch! :thumbsup2

Great movie, we love it in our house. My DS3 watches it all year long. Honestly it is a very well done movie and we be a holiday tradition on our family for years to come. I would try to figure which DVD it is and watch it on CHristmas eve.

My DS (age 3) LOVES the Polar Express book and movie. We read the book and watch the movie all year long in this house! :rotfl: It's absolutely his favorite movie in the world!

Can't say that I have seen anything wrong with Polar Express. My mom, grandmother and I went to see it in the theatre and we have also bought it and watch it on tv when it comes on. I wouldn't hesitate to let kids see it at all. Its a good, family movie and the book is good too. popcorn::

The first time I saw this movie I was pretty scared, but that's because the dvd kept skipping between English and Spanish.. luckily it was at my little party and one of my friends knows some Spanish so she got us through...

Some parts are dark and a little scary.. I would have liked it better if it was a different kind of animation.. and if that darn annoying kid wasn't so darn annoying! :thumbsup2 I've watched it with all the kids I babysit and all of them loved it!

I am very picky about what my children watch and I find this movie to be totally acceptable. It's a nice story with wonderful animation. There are some slightly "intense" parts but they end well, and it's nothing compared to Disney. (moms dying, being shot, bear fights, etc)

My children are sensitive to somethings and this movie doesn't bother them. I watched it with them and we talked about it as it played.

My son (4) does want to ride the train to the North Pole though!!

Its been on TV at least 2 times so far... and your in luck if you have the abc family channel its on tomorrow night at 8pm I know on directv its channel 311.

Regarding the "ghost" on top of the train. . . I never thought of him as a ghost. I thought he was an angel the first time I saw the movie. Maybe for those whose kids were scared, could look at it that way. He was only there to help. He came across a little gruff, sure, but he wasn't harmful.

We all love this movie. DS (6) hasn't questioned anything about Santa after watching it. DD (3) would watch it 24/7 if we let her. The only part that scares her is when they are in the train car with the old toys, and the "ghost" from the top of the train is using the puppet. She'll say "Scary Part!" and leave the room for the brief moment that it is on. There's been no permanent damage, though. :rotfl:
