Points UY Question

Relatively new to DVC and had a quick question I was hoping someone could answer.

I have two contracts, one at AKV and one at GFV. For GFV, I banked all of my 2013 UY points into the 2014 UY. I made transactions in the following order:

1.) Banked 2013 UY into 2014
2.) Booked 2 nights in October (40 points) using 40 of the banked points from 2013
3.) Booked 2 nights in December (40 points) using the remaining 10 points from the 2013 UY and 30 points from the 2014 UY

I am thinking of cancelling the reservation in October, but I need to make sure I still use up the points from 2013 I banked into 2014. Is there any easy way to cancel the October reservation and then make sure the December reservation is using 40 points from the 2013 UY? If this isn't possible, or is overly difficult, I won't cancel the October reservation and will just use it.

If the points for the Oct ressie and December ressie are from the same resort, such as VGF, then MS will allow you to cancel the Oct ressie and then allow you to replace the 2014 points in the Dec ressie with 2013 banked points from the Oct ressie. If, however, one of the ressies is AKV with AKV points and one is VGF with VGF points, then they will not allow it unless at the time of the switch you are 7 months or less out from the Dec reservation and the room and days you have would be separately available from the reservation you already have when you want to make the switch.

Thanks, this is helpful. They are all VGF points. We added on a small 50 point contract with an August UY (to match our AKV UY) and banked the first year of points since there was no way we were getting there before next fall. I will have to give MS a call to cancel the October ressie and get them to use 2013 UY points for the December one. Thanks again for your help, I knew someone would have the answer!
