Points transfer question

I have an original dvc membership and a friend is considering buying a resale. Would I be able to transfer points to him that he could use to book in the Disney Collection? Also, I assume if he was to transfer points to me would they maintain their limitations?

As long as you transfer points purchased from DVD, he could use them for the collections. If he transfers to you resale points you cannot use them for the collections. The MS computer system keeps track of whether points are purchased from DVD or resale. Also note that if you transfer to him in a use year he will not be able to transfer to you in the same use year. A member is limited to one transfer, either in or out but not both, during a use year, so your transfer to him would use up the one transfer right for both of you.

That's a good question. You would expect that the points would retain their original rules but Disney has had trouble with transfers in the past and who knows if and or how they keep track of them now.
