Points transfer query

I am planning a trip in December and even with borrowing we will be a few points short. I had planned on buying some of the one time use points from DVC but now have noticed a possible transfer and want to check my logic.

I have a March use year and can get a transfer of points at my home resort but which have a December use year.

The points expire Nov 13 (I think) so am I correct in thinking that I could bank them and use them for my Dec 13 trip?

Points retain their original use year and resort.

If you receive a December 2012 use year transfer from someone that has the same home resort that you do, you can bank those points and use them to book a December 2013 reservation at your home resort now.

That is what I understood - just wanted to check as my boyfriend doesn't pay attention to the rules and so was no help
