Hi All:

Quite some time ago (3-4 YEARS AGO?), I came across a nifty little piece of software that a member here on the DIS Boards had developed to help track/manage DVC points.

It was/is incredibly useful. Anyway.....I had a PC hard drive failure, and lost the program. I've gotten my use history, including banking and borrowing, from DVC Memeber Services, but I can't locate the program here on the Boards anywhere.

Anyone remember this program or know where it can be found?

Many thanks,

That was probably Caskbill. He has a link to that at the bottom of his posts. He's a moderator on the R/T board, so you might find a post by him there easily.

I'm not sure if this is the one you are referring to, but there is Caskbill's DVC Planner, which gives the points for accommodations, keeps track of banking deadlines, gives you the opening dates for 11 and 7 month windows, and a LOT more. Great, great program and an essential tool.

That's a free program and you can download it from www.caskbill.com

Bill is also working on an account tracking package, but it's not out yet.

I think there is another tracking program out there, but I haven't used it and don't know where you would get it. Hopefully, someone will post a link.

You might be thinking of Dave Frederickson's program. It's been out there for several years now.

It's a nice program, fairly straightforward.

My DVC-Tracker program should be available later this year. It's considerably more advanced than Dave's program with many features his does not have, including extras such as a vacation logbook and a feature to track vacation expenses, create graphs of your vacation usage, full history reports of vacations, full tracking of points by point status (regular, banked, borrowed, reservation, holding), and much more.

Dave's site is at:

Thanks everyone, very helpful, but this isn't the one I'm thinking of....the one I downloaded previously had fields to enter your contract #, number of points and use years, a running tally of banking and borrowing transactions, as well as a log of points used. The really neat thing is that this data all "rolled up" into a chart in the upper right that gave you an "at a glance" look at your curent point total of each use year remaing (all the way through to 2042.)

The Casbill program is very useful, and I've downlaoded and used it the opast 24 hours. My quest, though, continues.

Thanks for all the input. NOTHING beats these boards for WDW stuff....

Onward!

It sure sounds like you're talking about Dave's program. Did you check out the link to it in my post above?

Outside of his program , I don't know of any other point tracking programs out there.

If it's not Dave's program, you might want to look at it anyway, or optionally, just wait until my program is released later this year.

Bill

Was it Lew Rafsky's Excel worksheets?

I've lost that one as well and haven't been able to find how to replace it. I still have my personal data files, but not the worksheets.

If you find out anything I'd love to know.

I'm eagerly awaiting caskbill's tracker (love the planner!). When Dave Frederick's program was first distributed I checked it out, but being happy with the program I had I didn't switch. Oh, and I just recalled another reason...I couldn't figure out how to work with my 2 home resorts in Dave's program. With the excel worksheets I just kept separate worksheets for each resort and one that cross-referenced both. Having 2 home resorts makes it a little trickier.
