Points refund?

Hi, everyone
Just came back from BCV stayed 6 nights in a 1 bdrm and my mom and aunt stayed the same amount in a studio I had asked if we could be close to each other? Well to my surprise they were ajoining rooms so what I really had was a 2 bedroom my mom just loved it! I guess what I'm getting at is looking back I should of just reserved a 2 bedroom , but my mom made a late decision to go and all i could get her was a studio! there were no 2 bdrms left! Would it be stupid to call MS tommorow and ask for a refund of 34 precious vacation points seeing how we had a 2 bedroom but paid more for a 1 bedroom and a studio

Doubt you'll get much sympathy from MS...

On the other hand, it never hurts to try - I agree they won't change it in all likelihood, but I'd just as soon hear it from MS directly....

It can't hurt to ask, but since you reserved a studio and a 1BR you got exactly what you had reserved. In this case, you were fortunate to have adjoining rooms, but you still did not have a 2BR.

If you had tried to reserve a 2BR, you might not have even gotten it when you called - since there could have been a waitlist.

Don't be disappointed if they don't refund any points, but good luck!

Just wanted to let everyone know that Friday MS called to let me know that after checking with the resort they will be refunding 34 points into my account! That gives me 4 more nights in a studio @OKW this JAN! Thanks to all of you who told me that it wouldn't hurt to ask!

Good news for you! It's even better to know you can plan ANOTHER DVC vacation with points you thought were already gone. Annmarie

That's great news. Well done. It never hurts to ask a question. I had to cancel my wedding a couple of years ago and we had to cancel all our DVC bookings. I thought that we would have to use all the points within a year but MS allowed us to bank them all to the following year.

When in doubt, always ask the question.

you should be happy that they put you close together they didnt have to do that. you ask for a 1 bedroom and a studio and thats what you got.
