I heard the rumor this weekend about points reallocation but the person I heard it from had no further details. It could just be a rumor. I was wondering if anyone else has heard anything in this area.

I heard a bunch of rumors when I was at WDW, but not this one.

The best one that I heard was that Saratoga Springs was just about 50% sold out.   This was from a bus driver.

I listen politely, nod my head, and take it with a grain of salt.

DVC only sells one resort at a time. They won't start Saratoga Spring sales until the Beach Club Villas are sold out.

I know that Sims, I was only illustrating how I take these rumors with a healthy dose of skepticism.

:D :D :D

Dean, I have not yet heard this rumor, but it would not surprise me if true. It does seem that weekends are hevier than need be to balance demand. Even from reading here it seems that there are empty rooms on weekends. Of course, I am making the assumption that it would be a weekend/weekday reallocation, where as it could be seasonal or possibly room size. The wording is still unclear in my mind whether room size point reallocation could be done.

Thanx, and keep us informed.......

Wonder if it could be season - like the month of December? That sure seems like a high demand time and the points are low.

Keep us informed, Dean, if you hear anything else.

Thanks.

Speaking of rumors, I heard the one from a Disney bus driver about the black squares on the Swan and Dolphin resorts originally being planned for a monorail pass through.

Point reallocation from weekend to weekday or vice versa is a bit troubling, you try to purchase your point amounts by studying and understanding your vacation needs. Changing those allocations changes the point requirements for vacations during the seasons you have planned for, and in sold out resorts, getting some additional points isn't possible. The other side of it is that I'm glad they are on top of it and not letting weekend guests overshadow those coming in for week or more vacations. The point system should help balance both of those group requests.

If this rumor is true, when do people think this might go into effect? As soon as 2004 use years, even though we have the point schedules for that year in our current guidebook?

Although this is somewhat of a scarry thought since we don't know what the plan is. I am already trying to figure out how this could work. If they did decide to lower the weekend points and raise the weekday points, it would work out better for me. Because of school schedules, we try to get the most days out of our vacations as possible, this means we arrive on Friday night and check out on Sunday, 9 total nights, 4 of which are weekend nights and 5 weekdays, this way the kids only have to take 5 days off of school.

Okay, in my situation, lets say they lower weekend points by 10 and raise weekday points by 4 each day (we stay in a 2 bedroom by the way). I would be ahead by 20 points each vacation.

Although, not much ends up working in my favor like that, so I wouldn't count on it!

zulaya... Just a guess here, but I would assume this wouldn't start until 2005 since 2004 point charts are already out!
