Points Question

I have a reservation for the last week in December 2018 and used points from the 2018 use year to book it. My banking window ended 9/30. If I change my reservation to a room with lower points will I be able to bank those points into 2019 or do they stay in the 2018 use year which in means I'll lose them since I'm not going back before the end of February. Thanks

They will be returned into the UY in which the reservation takes place. Based on a 9/30 banking deadline, you have a Feb UY. So, those points would be returned to your 2018 UY and can't be banked since your banking window has closed.
