You would have 2 different reservations from 2 different owners. It could be done but with all of the points currently available for rent, why would you want the headache?
Even though it's referred to as 'renting points', you're not really getting points, because as a non-owner you can't do anything with them. Only owners can make reservations through DVC.
What really happens is that the owner makes a reservation for you with their points, and you pay the owner a previously-agreed-upon fee, which is calculated based on the number of points used.
So, since only owners can make reservations with their own points, the situation you've described would be two separate reservations with two separate owners. The owners would then ask Member Services to link the reservations, so that you wouldn't have to move to a new villa when you switch over to the new reservation.
It's a little more complicated, since you're dealing with two owners who may have different prices and different rental terms, but it's certainly possible.
The owners would then ask Member Services to link the reservations, so that you wouldn't have to move to a new villa when you switch over to the new reservation.
It may be possible but never guaranteed; as pp states the two owners would need to request MS link these 2 reservations but the villa booked for first reservation would need to be same size villa booked for second reservation too. And the first reservation would still need to be checked out and second reservation checked in by the renter even if MS does manage to link the reservations allowing the renter to remain in the same villa.
You can. Friends & I planned a 4 night trip. I booked nights 1, 3 & 4 (OKW studio), my friend booked night 2 and we were able to link them, it looked like one reservation when we were there. We keys for all 4 nights, housekeeping was day 4.
Its sounds like its not worth the trouble. I just thought that there are a lot of owners that have extra points after big chunks are taken. So, you are not really buying points to make a reservation, you are buying the owner's alotted time.

Not quite. The currency is still points, which I suppose are equivalent to time in some ways. What you're really buying is a reservation. The key part of it is that the member makes the reservation, and owns the reservation until you check in.
