I have a total of 1,500 OKW points for rent. I can book OKW up to 11 months out and ALL OTHER RESORTS up to 7 months out. I can also transfer points. I have Feb & Sept use years.
When renting points it is VERY IMPORTANT to deal with a reputable person. The DVC owner has total control over the points & could cancel your reservation the day before your vacation. Athough, this is obviously not the norm, you want to deal with a person who has rented before.
As protection for you & me, I provide the following:
1) I require 50% upfront & 50% 90 days before your check-in date. I will provide you with my name, address, home & cell numbers. I will also provide you with a rental contract that basically allows you to control the points used as if they were your own. This means, you can resell them, change reservations, bank them, etc. I will still own the points (unless I transfer them to another DVC member), but you will have the same flexibility with the points as I would have.
2) You can check my Ebay user id & see that I have a 100% perfect feedback as a buyer & seller going back 10 years!
3) I will provide you with a list of people I have rented to in the past. Every single one of them is 100% pleased with their vacations.
4) I can accept a credit card payment through Paypal, but would need you to add 3.5% to the total to cover the PayPal fee. This will give you the added benefit of credit card protection. (Well worth it in my opinion).
I do not do this as a business & as a person owning this many points, I do not do this because I need the income. We aren't vacationing much this year due to schedules, so I need to rent them out instead of letting them go to waste.
**If others have checked a week for you & it isn't available, the same will happen if I check. Also, DVC owners are only able to waitlist 2 weeks total @ the same time (I can do 4 weeks because I have 2 memberships). I would be willing to waitlist for people, but only reservations that are over 200 points due to the limited amount I can waitlist**
