Hi,

I know DVC has chosen to use II instead of RCI, and I see some information on the DVC site/II site regarding such. But I don't see anything about how many points are required for a 7night exchange or how much it costs to make an exchange.

Does anyone know any of this information yet?

Thanks,
Dee

You can also look up exchanges on the II site (link on the DVC site). I think that they negotiated the same as we had with RCI so we won't have an exchange fee (don't quote me on that one though lol).

They did. I read it on the DVC member website under Exchanges (the More Information link).

Hi. I know it's probably me, so maybe I'll find the answer here, as I so often do.
II link through DVC doesn't let me check availability without calling DVC to deposit my points. I thought I read in the Buyers Guide that we can do "request first" so we can check availability without committing points. Am I incorrect? If so, can someone tell me how to do so?

Thanks,
Dee

You can look without depositing. When you get to the II page just click on the Exchange or Getaways tab.

Ok. Thanks. Maybe I went to far because when I looked at specific dates I got a pop up message stating I had to call DVC to deposit points. I’m going to call MS and see what the deal is with request first.

When you get to this screen just hit the Vacation Exchange button.

Ok thanks. I remember seeing that and I was afraid I was committing my point when I just wanted to look. Will try again. Appreciate your help.

I hit that same screen and didn't realize I could click the vacation exchange "button". I was rather frustrated! Thanks everyone!

I just took a good look over the next two years in USA. Nowhere I’m interested in going during the times available (which was very little). Hoping the slim pickings is just because people are starting to travel again

A lot of the Marriott and Westin locations book up by owners up to 2 years in advance, when their booking windows open, just like popular DVC resorts book up at the 11 month window. So ongoing searches, set up far in advance, are the way to book them.

Thanks. We own a legacy week Marriott too but I’d rather trade with DVC so I don’t have to pay into II separately.

Not sure if DVC will be handled differently, but I have been using II for a while now. You will never find anything by just doing an exchange. The best use of II to get anything is to do a deposit first, or request first. Request first would be your best bet if you do not want to lose points or a reservation if an exchange does not come up. If you know you will not be able to use your points a certain year, then deposit first will get you more options.
