Sorry to vent trying to plan some reservations and really struggling with the DVC Member's site. Is it just my PC or Internet? Can't seem to get the points calculator to work...or the rest of the site, with any sort of acceptable page-load time.

Yesterday I was on hold at MS for about 10 mintues to ask a question while I waited to get the answer from the website. Page did not load before I got a rep on the phone.

What irritates me is waiting on hold at MS only to get the recorded "Have you visited DVC.com lately..."

I just use the Point Calculator here on the DIS, it always works. :thumbsup2

Just give me a points chart and let me figure it out my self. I find it just as easy plus you don't have to redo everything for different options

Just for your chuckles and giggles when I first joined DVC, a couple of months back, I could not "see" :headache: any of the pages when logged on, it was strange because I could see the “logoff” button when I logged on, but not the page information. I was using the computer I am using now (computer #1) and Microsoft Explorer, however when I used my wife’s computer with Explorer, I could log on with no problem. I talked to MS and no joy or help from them:rolleyes1 . I downloaded a copy of Mozilla Firefox, :surfweb: its just another browser, to this computer (computer #1), and low and behold I could log on and the pages came right up, and everything works fine:banana:  . I still can’t see the home page with the Microsoft product but don’t need it because Mozilla works just fine.:dance3:

That's pretty much the way I feel. I can figure it out easier myself than relying on point charts on the net.

You might try downloading Caskbill's DVC Planner from www.caskbill.com. It works great and makes planning and what-if games pretty fast,

Thanks for mentioning. There are two programs of interest: DVC-Chart which is a point chart program for the current DVC resorts. It goes through 2057 using an algorithm to adjust for Christmas/Easter holiday periods the same way DVC does every year.

The other program DVC-Planning is more detailed and lets you just click on a calendar for the dates you want, and it shows you the points required.

DVC-Tracker is a 3rd program and will be back on line in the next couple of days...

Just click the link below.

Vista users: DVC-Chart and DVC-Planner have not yet been rewritten for compatibility with Vista.

Now that you mention it i use Firefox at home and have better luck but it is still a poor performing site.

I also vouch for CASKBILL's DVC Planner, it's a nice tool! Anxiously awaiting the DVC tracker since I have not seen previous versions.
