So my husband just found out he has a work conference he has to be at in SF May 11th, the day we are to leave our 1 bdrm villa at VGC. Rather than cut our trip short, he came up with the awesome idea of having his work fly him to the conference from Anaheim while we hang out on our own in Disneyland for 3 more days :cool1: and he will then fly back to Anaheim so he can drive home with us to AZ. Sounds great right?

Well, the problem is I have nowhere near enough points to extend our stay in the 1 bdrm villa. I could however, switch us to a studio for the 3 nights I need and use/borrow my remaining 36 2010 points I will have to cover it. I would then only be 15 points short. What are my options for getting these points, assuming there is availability?

Additional info: I have a June UY but I am in constant borrow mode and have already booked all of 2010 points (with the exception of the 34 I mentioned). I do have a reservation for Labor Day/ Half Marathon weekend in Sept 2010 that I used my 2010 points for. Would it be possible to reallocate that reservation by applying 15 borrowed points from my 2011 use year, thus freeing up 15 2010 points to borrow for this reservation in May? Is this a tricky thing to get member services to do? I am also open to renting points but with as few as I need and my desire to tie to my existing reservation, would a point transfer be a better option? Not sure how many people would be willing to do such a small point transfer as we can only do transfers once a year correct? Thanks in advance for helping me understand my options.

Hmmmmm . . . I think its time you consider an add-on. Addonitis isn't that bad an illness. There are worse things one could catch. :rolleyes1

lol :rotfl2:

Sadly, my dh got me a 50 point add on for Christmas to go with our initial 160 point contract. It is just too easy to use those points when you are only a 7 hr car ride away and after staying in a 2 bdrm with my parents at Christmas as well as needing points for a peak season weekend night during the 1/2 marathon, we have been wiped out. But this certainly would be my preferred option!

I actually just called and they only have 2 bedrooms available anyway so maybe I will try Paradise Pier or DL hotel on points or a cash reservation. I think seeking a point transfer to make the reservation might actually be cheaper than the cash rate.

Is it time to give hints for Mothers Day? Perhaps you could reciprocate on Fathers Day?;)

I've stayed at PPH on points, it's a good option. The rooms are fairly large with a daybed, I got the park view and it was spectacular.

I think that is the route we are going to go, either paradise pier or DLH. I will still need to buy some points for transfer. There is no issue with using transferred points for Disney collection resorts is there?
