Point Transfers ... Limitations and Status of Points?

We're planning a group trip across a two different accounts and wanted to transfer points from A to B. Neither one of us have done a transfer this year, so we should be able to do this. But, I have some questions on the limitations and how this actually works.

First Question: Is the once per year limitation based on UY or CY?

Second Question: Is it possible to transfer current UY and next UY points in one transaction? If so, how do those points come in? Do they come in as this year and next year respectively? I'm assuming they now retain their home resort and use year status from the transferring member and they no long 'morph' into whatever contract they are transferred into?

Don't know if I can answer all, but will take a shot at it :

1) - - Once per year transfer is based on Use Year. A member can only transfer or receive once during this time not both. When a member transfers to you it uses their transfer option for their UY and it uses your transfer option for your UY.

2) - - Only current Use Year points can be transferred. Points that have been banked or borrowed cannot be transferred.

But the receiving member of transferred points can bank the transferred "in" points. 'Technically' this is subject to still being within the banking window of the transferred "in" points, however, there are threads/posts here where members say they have been allowed by MS to bank points transferred into their account even if those transferred points were past their banking window.

- - When points are transferred they retain their Home Resort & Use Year so if you & the member who is transferring to your account have different HR's then your points can't be combined with the transferred points for a reservation until 7 month window.

Since only Current Use Year points can be transferred, a transfer of "CURRENT UY and NEXT UY" points then would need to happen, for example, in a scenario like this (it cannot be done in 1 transaction like you were asking ) :

Member A with Feb UY transfers to Member B (who has Dec UY) their
Feb 2009 UY points on 9/15/09
(Member A has now used their 2009 UY transfer option)

Member B receives on 9/15/09 this transfer into their Dec 2008 UY
(Member B has now used their 2008 UY transfer option)

- - Member B decides to bank Member A's 2009UY points into their Dec 2009 UY on 9/30/09 so they may use these transferred points from 12/1/09 through
11/30/10 - -

Then on Feb 1 2010 Member A transfers to Member B (who has Dec UY) their
Feb 2010 UY points
(Member A has now used their 2010 UY transfer option)

Member B receives on 2/1/10 this transfer of points into their Dec 2009 UY
(Member B has now used their 2009 UY transfer option)

Member B would have available to use their current Dec 2009 UY points and
the points transferred from Member A on 9/15/09 that Member B banked into Dec 2009 UY and the points transferred from Member A on 2/1/10. (Also, if Member B had banked their own points from
Dec 2008 UY into their Dec 2009 UY this would be an additional allotment of points available for Member B to use as well)

And if Member B wished to bank the points transferred from Member A on
2/1/10 they could do so until at least 9/30/10.
