Point Transfer Question

I have sort of a nit picky question. If someone has multiple contracts in the same use year and wanted to transfer pts in/out, do you get a transfer a year inside each contract or would it be only one transfer/year for the entire account/member ID?

For example, could you transfer pts into contract A, and then decide you needed more and do another transfer into contract B. Both A and B would be in the same UY, so therefore the same member #.

No, it's 1 transfer per membership, not contract, so you would still be limited to 1 transfer.

I don’t think so, nor can you transfer borrowed points is what I believe, but someone can correct me if I’m wrong.

If you have multiple contracts, same UY AND titled the same, they’d all be under one membership so no transfers would be needed. The points could be combined at 7 months but not at 11 months unless they’re the same home resort.

You don’t transfer points from one contract to another. You transfer from one membership to another, and the transferred points keep their home resort, UY and direct vs. resale status.

When someone receives a transfer, they create virtual account in your membership to hold the points..that is why they don’t show up on line because they are not part of what you own.

As stated, that is why it’s based on membership and not number of contracts you own in that membership.

The only way to get more than one transfer is to own more than one membership...different UY or titled differently. Then each one is allowed a transfer in or out.

They do allow some leeway for owners to transfer between their own memberships if someone has more than one UY...but not all CMs know this.

Thank you - I understand that, but it’s a great tid bit to make sure folks know and that anyone reading is clear on. I was thinking in terms of needing to transfer points in or out with an outside source such as purchasing point transfer to/from someone else.

I have 2 contracts and recently changed title on my older contract to match the owners in recent. Same use year but I requested they do not merge my contracts into 1 membership so I still have 2#s. Will work better for me so I can transfer twice and have 4 waitlist.

Interesting- It’s definitely something I’m going to be factoring in to any decisions. Didn’t know about the waitlist part.

Yeah I log in with 1 username but I pick the contract on each reservation or waitlist. Each contract has own membership # for us. So in theory even if I use 2 contracts to book at 1 resort, I can tell dvc to make notes that it’s us staying and to not check us out/check in on our contract switchover day.

who/how did you ask? Not a current owner, but considering a resale or two, so I don’t know the process if I decided to do this.
