I'm still trying to figure out how to make my ressies for Jan. I will be at WDW for the marathon. Would like to stay at either BCV or BWV (preferably). Will have to make ressies at 7 mo. window. I will have to borrow points.

1. How hard will it be to get a 2 BR standard at BWV in Jan.? What about preferred view?

2. If I'm able to book standard I'd have enough points, after borrowing, for my entire stay (which includes weekend nights). If I have to go preferred or BCV, I'd have to rent some points or pay cash for the last night of my stay.
If I make the ressie and have the last night linked as a cash night, could I then switch it to a points night if I'm able to rent or have points transferred into my account?

Boy, do I wish I could've bought more points! :teeth:

Terri

Thanks!
Terri

1. I can't tell you how difficult it will be to make a reservation for January at the 7-month window. However, I can advise you to make a reservation at your home resort (assuming your home resort is at WDW) so you will at least have something if you can't reserve at BCV or BWV.

If you don't have enough points to make your reservation at BCV or BWV, you might want to consider OKW. Point requirements are much less there.

2. If you reserve a cash night and then wish to use points for that night, there is no guarantee you will be able to switch. Room inventory for cash and points is completely separate.

BTW, the title of your thread, Point Transfer Question, doesn't really describe your question very well. That may be why you are not getting much of a response.

It's possible, but not probable that there will be a standard view unit available at 7 months. Call day by day as soon as your 7 month window opens to have the best chance. I do not think you will have a problem getting Preferred view at the BWV at 7 months.

Yes. My advice is to book the cash night through MS - if you are lucky, you will get the 25% member discount. Friday and Saturday nights are available for cash more often than the weekday nights. Be sure to ask MS about the cancellation policy for the cash nights - IIRC, it is 5 days. You will need to give a credit card to hold the reservation, but you don't pay until check in/out.
