I'm looking to get my husband a small point and shoot digital camera for Father's Day. He said that he would like something that would fit into his shirt pocket. I'm not really sure what brand direction to head, so I'm looking for some help.

Thanks Lisa

Again, I have to recommend the Canon Elph series. Very small, takes great pictures. I love my SD850, 8 MP, 4X optical zoom.

We got a Nikon S210 a couple weeks ago and have so far been happy with it.

I have the SD 850, too! Love it. But does he have large hands? Small buttons could be problematic.

Not only that, for some men (me), if a camera is too small, it ends up being dropped. I've broken two cameras from drops due to their small size. Nowadays, there's so much competition among the P&S cameras that the best way to pick one is to see which one feels the best. yes, sounds like a DSLR advice, but it also holds true for P&S cameras.

I love the features of the Casio's, but after playing with it in Best Buy, it just didn't feel right in my hands. Then I dropped it while playing with it...LOL. This is coming from a guy who used to play the piano, guitar and ran a dj company for 10 years...so it can't be simple butterfingers..lol.

Is it a surprise? If not, drag him to a store and have him play around with one. There's nothing worse then getting a $300 camera that will fit in a shirt pocket....only to have it dropped and broken after trying to take it out and take a picture for the first time.

Hmm..maybe that's why we now have the Olympus Stylus SW series which claims to be shockproof ;)

I'd get him a Nikon D300 or a Canon 40D and much, much bigger shirt pockets. Technically, they aren't point and shoots, but he could just use them in full auto mode and pretend.
