Point requirements for DLRP

FYI, the points charts for the other Disney parks around the world are now available on the member website. Interesting while Tokyo and Hong Kong stayed about the same, Paris dropped its point requirements an average of 20 points per day for every resort and for all seasons. And it says park passes are still included. Anyone thinking of a DLRP trip for 2008 might want to check it out.

I have been having fun and games with MS over the DLPR points!

According to the wording on the points page, the points for Paris still includes park passes, but according to MS, it doesn't. You now have to buy a length of stay ticket from them for any points booking for Paris before they will book for you, even if you have a park ticket or AP already.

I wanted to add a couple of nights at the Disneyland hotel as a surprise for my kids at the end of a cash booking for christmas 2008, as I won't be able to make it to WDW to use my points before they expire, even if I bank them, due to my june UY and my next trip being October 2009, so I asked about the wording stating that passes were included and was told that I was reading it wrong!
So I am glad that other members read it the same way as I do.

The price I was given for 2 night, 3 day tickets was $150 each and some change, and there is no non expiration option if you already have tickets to cover your stay. I was basically told "tough luck if you already have passes, no passes, no booking".

Hi simzac, that was my thoughts entirely. I mentioned that the wording states that park passes were still included and was told that I was reading it wrong!

I saw it there a few days ago and downloaded the pdf file, but now it's not on the website anymore.

Perhaps they jumped the gun, but we are VERY close to 2008, so I don't see why they took it off the website.

I made my reservations for Paris yesterday. Points charts still not back up, as MS is most likely rewriting the fine print to make it clear that tickets are NOT included in points, and that you MUST buy length of stay tickets. For those who still want to make reservations under these new circumstances, MS is making them.

My DW and I were contemplating a trip to Paris and a visit to DLRP. I just got off the phone with her, telling her about the fact that park admission is not included and that one HAS to purchase length-of-stay passes. She asked me if they were not rich enough. I guess that's the problem. Disney isn't rich enough and they need to continue to get richer.

On the other hand, the points requirement for my stay dropped 23 points per night for the same time period last year. I'm not sure how people are valuing points these days, but that at least partially covers the cost of the tickets.

I have just booked for a stay at the Disneyland hotel in January and because of the drop in points required per night, got three nights at this lovely hotel for the same amount of points as I would have paid for two before . However, I agree that it is extremely disappointing that you are now obliged to purchase length of stay passes for all in your party. It has not put me off going, but I was planning to buy an AP and cannot seem to find out whether I would be able to offset the price of the length of stay pass against the purchase of an AP in resort. It seems unlikely, from current information and a shame as with an AP I would probably make several trips a year (mostly cash but maybe some points bookings too) but will find it hard to justify buing an AP, if everytime I want to use points to book, I need to buy a length of stay pass despite having an AP

FWIW, points are generally renting for between $9.50 and $12.00. In that regard, it definitely makes up the difference, at least in my opinion. If we hadn't already made our bookings at WDW this year, I think we would have gone there instead.

I went to DLP as a child the year it opened and I had a blast, and now they have the extra park as well.

A length of stay pass is required at Disneyland? I made a reservation for late April at Paradise Pier (5 nights), I did not know that. I had also planned to buy an AP. Nothing was said to me when I made the reservation and there is nothing on the confirmation.
