Point Rental Question for DVC experts

We've rented a couple times and the "due" dates were outlined before reservation was made. We have also done a three way conference with DVC and the owners and once DVC disconnected we paid them via credit card. I think they must have owned a business if they were able to process the card.

I agree... as a previous renter (now owner) we would not drop off the face of the earth completely if we still wanted the reservation.

Good luck!!

I would try to contact them once more and if nothing..cancel the reservation. I'm not sure what other owners use for a contract or payment terms but since we get email confirmations the same day from dvc now, I require payment in full via paypal the same day. No refunds either. It has worked out very well for me thus far. :goodvibes
I would not because even if you got them and they seemed ready to proceed, they are unreliable.

Thanks, guys, great suggestions.

I did use the contract I got off the DVC Dis Board Rental Board, and it said 50% due when confirmation is received, and the other 50% due 32 days before the day of checkin or the reservation would be cancelled.

I will probably call DVC tomorrow and cancel. Since its 4 months out, they should just put my points back into my account, correct?

Frustrating. I will also go have them repost my points for someone else to rent now. I wouldn't be so anxious to rent them, but they are technically "paying" for our Alaska cruise (which we decided to pay cash for, rather than book on points).

Thanks again everyone for your help. I was planning to cut her off as well, but thought I would "ask the experts" before I did anything rash!

Yes, since you are cancelling more than 30 days prior to arrival, the points just go back into your account. They will have the same status they did just before you made the reservation, whether that was current, banked, borrowed, etc.

Good luck with the next rental!
