Point mismatches between nearby resorts

I was noting that VDH and VGC have a major mismatch for 2 nights of our upcoming trip due to season ends not aligning between resorts we're paying at VDH and it is at VGC both for 2BR villa.

Does this happen often at nearby resorts? it's not the case for these same rooms on the adjacent weeks.

Is this something I should check for every time?

They have different seasons. Though to change at VGC given the number of points is fixed.

Yes, it is something that you should check for whenever the new point charts come out.

Also…. the more people talk about it the harder the VDH villas will be to get those weeks. It could legitimately turn it something you always have to walk for….

As @AstroBlasters pointed out, VGC and VDH have, for some reason, seasons structured differently. Occasionally this results in severe imbalances.

WDW resorts all share the same 7 seasons so imbalances like this are much less common and severe.

Maybe the weirdest thing you can find at WDW is when a 2BR costs less than a 1BR at the same resort due to the difference in views. BWV, BLT, RIV, and AKV all have times during the year where a Standard/Resort View 2BR is fewer points than a 'better' view 1BR (and not even factoring in Value/Concierge at AKV...this is just Savanna vs. Standard).
