Dave's Point Manager program is a fine program which works well for most users. It did not make sense for me to create a point tracking program that simply basically copied his, so my intention has always been to create a new program that would do many of the things Dave's does not.
DVC-Tracker:
Will do all point tracking for you, including transfers, banking, borrowing, and all reservations. It also includes some finanacial management, user selectable report features, vacation countdown timer, basic graphs of data, built in DVC charts (through 2054 - no annual downloads required), Editable Disney Collection (etc.) properties, banking deadlines date display, multiple contracts (meaning multiple membership numbers), multiple add-on's (with automatic combination of points when add-on's are for the same resort), special tracking for Holding points, Borrowed Points, Reservation points, Banked points. Also can open DVC-Planner and DVC-Chart programs directly from DVC-Tracker (If you have those programs installed on your computer)
A special Q&A contract entry screen walks you through adding new purchases. This is especially helpful when purchasing resale contracts which do not have full points available, or have banked/borrowed/holding/reservation points involved. You can also begin tracking points with any use year or even mid-year if desired.
There are some other features that will not make the first release, but are scheduled for later releases. These include adding mortgage information to the financial aspects of the program (1st release includes all purchase information and annual dues tracking only), direct internet links to the DIS, Disney, DVC member site (will still require you enter passwords), plus any feedback items I get after the first release.
Beta is still scheduled for this summer. In a few months I'll be asking for volunteers to help beta tests.
DVC-Tracker uses the MS Jet Engine database. That's the same engine used for MS Access. (The database can actually be opened independently in Access (for viewing only) if desired).
There will not be a version for the Mac. I program only for the P.C. Although it has been reported my other programs run on earlier Mac's using VirtualPC, but it's also been reported VirtualPC does not work on the very latest version of Mac.
