Point Extensions for VGC or AUL?

Does anyone think DVC might extend current use year points for cancelled bookings at VCG or AUL? Or is there a current policy? Now that DL opening is delayed could this come into play?

I don’t think they will give any special extension due to the resort.

I thin anyone with a reservation there, will be eligible for the current extensions of late banking and 2018 banked points until November 30th.

Majority of DVC is now open so people have a place to use them...not that it is the same...but from a system standpoint, that is all that may matter.

Of course, this is so unprecedented as we may see something different.

@Sandisw That lines up with my chat with DVC MS this morning. Currently booked at AUL in July. We are free to cancel on our own now, but the current guidelines in place will only go into effect if the resort remains closed through our original check in date. Doesn't sound like they'll budge on the Nov 30th deadline for those 2018 banked points.

The other hard part though is they also don't seem willing to budge on the availability of those banked 2018 points either. For example, we're Sept UY and the best week that works for our family is the end of August and going into first week of Sept. The issue is those 2018 points that we have a lot of can't be used prior to sometime around Sept 7th because of that weird "blackout" timing of points being returned. Crossing my fingers we'll get lucky with whichever CM the day we try to rebook.

I really don’t understand why they won’t let people have the extended points now as we are clearly well within the 7 month window and it’s based on what is there anyway,

I didn’t have any of these points but did send an email to them about it and it is wrong to not publish the rules and that some of those rules seem to be inconsistent.

Just logged into our dashboard and saw points returned from our July 11th Aulani trip. They're auto cancelling arrivals through July 16th as of a few moments ago.

I believe so since April UY was part of the original UY's that were granted the cancellation policy. Here's what I posted on a different thread how the cast member explained how the points would work. We have a Sept UY.

We had 2018 banked, current 2019, and borrowed 2020 as part of the reservation. I see them all back in the 2019 UY on the dashboard. Cast member told me the 2018 points will be available until Nov 30th. Current 2019 points will be added to 2020 UY. It sounds like there will be this sort of "unusable" time during the first week of Sept where the points wont be available. The CM said the points would be available by the end of the first week in Sept. The 2020 borrowed points will be put back into 2020 in about 15 business days.
