I tried to make a reservation for two rooms at the GC for February, 2006 but was told the point charts were not out yet.

Does anyone have a good enough memory to know when they were posted last year?

Anybody in the know for this year?

I would like to nail down the rooms as soon as possible because this is over the Presidents' Day weekend.

Thanks.

I guess this is a bump. I still would like to know when the Disney hotel point charts come out for 2006.

I phoned MS last week to ask about points Grand Californian for 2006 and they told me to call back in September. I said that I was concerned about banking my points and knowing how much I needed. She put me on hold and after a couple of minutes came back and asked me to phone back in a couple of weeks.

I hope this helps.

Thanks for your response. We are going Feb. 18-22, 2006. When are you planning to be there?

tvwalsh,
You can log into the DVC site and look up the points for this year (under the Disney Collection, Disneyland Resort in California). This year, Jan 4 - Mar 17 was designated value season and the points were 39 per night (no difference between weekday or weekend)for a standard view room at Disney's Grand Californian Hotel.

Unfortunately, the points seem to keep going up each year, so there is no telling what they will be next year...

We are in the same boat, so, I figured I will call Disneyland direct. The women told me to call back in October.

Could this possibly br right?? There is no way I can book a March trip in October. There is so much to plan...airfare...rental car etc. No including the fact that I am horribly anal when it comes to my vacations!!

So, I am going to call them later next week. Maybe a differant person will give me a differant answer.

My family and I just stayed at the Grand Californian in January using points.

After numerous calls, complaints and sleepless nights the 2005 point schedule was release in September 2004!!!

There is no rush on Disney's part to get this point schedule out for some reason.

Yes, the points were very high to stay there - but they were worth every one of them!!!

I have two suggestions. One is to make a cash reservation and then rent your points. The other is to make a cash reservation then when the points chart comes out you can make a final decision.

We are not planning to go until May 2006 but I wanted to know how many points it was likely to take up as I could book more or less days at Disneyland Paris for our October trip. I can wait until September but would prefer to know sooner.

Lets keep our fingers crossed it will be out soon as I noticed the points for the cruises are out now.

When? What could possibly be the reason for the hold up? How can DVC members be expected to plan?

This is nothing new with DVC whether it be the CC, DCL or DC. They can't give you what they don't have even if you are within the reservation window. In the past they have allowed a couple of people to book times the points weren't published, at least for DCL. My understanding is those people had to agree to abide by the points published even if higher than they expected. What DVC would have done if the members hadn't had enough points is unknown to me.
