Point and Shoot and camcorder

What point and shoot cam-camcorder is good for taking night pics. Plus at a decent price?

I think you will be very disappointed with most photo capable video cameras.
I have the JVC Enverio which is fine as a camcorder (and really small), but the photo option if only about 1/2 MP (yes less than 1 MP).
There are a few, JVC has one with 7mp still camera built in, but when I looked at the samples from their site, there were OK at best.
A small < $150 P & S (Nikon, Canon, Sony, etc) will do a much, much better job. Plus it gives you the option to shoot video uninterupted and still can have someone else in your group takes still (That are worth printing).
The sensors are different on video camera and are optimized for video instead of still.
Look at the manufactures' sites and see if they have samples. If they let you download them (@ full res) you could always take it to a place and print on out to see what you think. Or just look at it on screen (if you are not a person who prints your pictures)
