I will be going to AKL in the fall and the shore in a few weeks and would like a new camera. Something happened to my current camera (when I take indoor shots they are all blurry) and I would like to get a replacement. I am interested in getting a Canon this time, but I am not sure if I would be better with the A620 or either the S2 IS or S3 IS. I like the idea of the image stablizer, but I am not sure if the camera would be too complicated for me.

Thanks in advance for all advice!

If you have the funds, and don't mind the extra bulk/weight I would definitely recommend the S2-IS over the 610/620. The IS and extended zoom range will give you the ability to compose pix that you simply would not be able to with the others. That said, the 610/620 are excellent cameras, from all I've read, here and elsewhere. You needn't be worried about the complexity; even dSLR cameras have an "auto" setting that basically does everything but point the camera and press the shutter release! Please note that I do not own any of these, and my comments are based on others' views. The S2 is currently available for +/- $300 online at present, from a couple of online retailers.

Good luck with your purchase.
