Point Allocation Question

I “think” I know the answer to this but it’s late and I’m tired and have managed to thoroughly confuse myself 🤪....

CCV is my home resort, have a December UY with 67 2019 UY points banked into the 2020 UY. I have 2 reservations in 2021:

January 7-11 at SSR (preferred studio, 62 points): booked initially at CCV at 11 months, modified booking to SSR at 7 months

April 5-9 at CCV (1 bedroom, 148 points): booked at 11 months, unchanged since then

When I booked my Jan reservation at CCV I’m almost positive banked 2019 points were used (62 of 67); then I booked my April reservation, which used the remaining 5 banked 2019 points and 143 2020 points....when I modified my Jan reservation from CCV to SSR at 7 months (same point total, reservation modified after I booked my April trip), did the point usage re-adjust so all banked points are now allocated to my April reservation? Or are 62 of my 67 banked points still allocated to my January reservation?

The system will not modify other reservations. So, they should still be on Jan reservation. If you're thinking of cancelling Jan, then MS can definitely reallocate the banked points. I've done this many times. Make sure to cancel more than 31 days out to avoid holding.

Thank you!! That’s what I thought but I kept talking myself in circles...

The only reason I would cancel my January reservation is if Marathon Weekend gets cancelled or turned into a virtual event, and judging by how far in advance they did the same with Wine & Dine weekend I’ll have plenty of time to cancel and avoid holding.

Thanks!!

One thing I do to double check is modify the reservation but don’t change a thing. At the end, once booked again, it will have a link for a point summary.

That will show exactly what points are being used.
