I saw a video review of boma breakfast return the other day. Hosts announced that POG juice is no loNger. Coke distributes it and have discontinued.

could this be true and if so, wouldn’t that be also true for all the other Disneyy restaurants that sell various versions of it?

hope not!

we had bfast at tusker house on friday and they only asked if we wanted OJ. i asked about pog juice and i guess they must have limited amounts becuase it was only being used to the mixed drinks at the bar. she did come back though with a big cup for me and said shhh dont tell anyone.

I suspect Disney is looking into making it themselves or a replacement vendor. It just takes time.

I read somewhere that there is a version of it at Whole Foods.

WHAT. Has anyone had it at Poly?
I haven‘t had it myself (yet), but watched a review when ‘Ohana reopened for breakfast & it was definitely served there (both with and without alcohol). I’m looking forward to having it again in just 2.5 months!!!! 🎉

I hope you’re right! Please report back after you go.

The recipe listed above is accurate, and oh-so-simple to make. It makes a delicious mimosa that is a new tradition for us on Christmas morning. 🥂:santa:

A few years ago Hawaii Magazine did a story about the Meadow Gold POG, it mentioned it was only available in WA, OR & CA, but that was from 2008 so things change. Some other stories talk about how the owner of MG ended up being sold. It's now locally owned in Hawaii as, Meadow Gold Dairies Hawai'i. I do wonder if there are issues importing this product - assuming that Disney is actually using the Meadow Gold POG.

As part of the story I linked to they shared some information about recipe for POG and how the magazine tested it vs the origional. It's worth a read. That said they said the submittor used, "Mix 1 cup each of Kern’s guava nectar and Welch’s passion fruit nectar with 2/3 cup of Minute Maid no-pulp orange juice. Chill. Serve." after testing that they suggested using less the 2/3 cup OJ. To be honest I like how they said "...Cheryl’s recipe came off a bit more adult than real POG. We wanted to add rum to it." - Rum and POG is a winning combination!

I wouldn't use Welch's, it's mostly grape juice with some passionfruit flavoring. Goya or Sun Tropics use actual passionfruit juice/puree.

I wish they sold it here. I even have a hard time finding the guava and passion juice here. Stupid midwest.

I can find Goya guava nectar at pretty much any grocery store around me, but only a couple of them have the passion fruit in cartons, for some reason (they have little cans, usually, but that's not enough 😄 ). It's not in the juice aisle, it's with the Mexican foods.

When we did Tusker house breakfast on 8/15, I asked about POG juice after being offered orange or apple juice and they said they no longer had it. :worried:
