POFQ- wonderful stay!

Just returned from 7 nights at POFQ and LOVED it! We had a wonderful stay!!!! Trip included myself, dh, dd8, ds6, my parents, and my brother. We had asked for 2 connecting rooms. We got two adjacent rooms, but they were not connecting. They were in building 4, so I told the cm to leave it! Building 4 is amazing- perfect location!!! Right beside the food court/ main building and buses. Check in was very quick- 15 minutes at the most- quickest we have ever had (last trip it was close to an hour!) CM seemed very knowledgable and friendly.
Room was perfect- appeared to be somewhat new mattresses, very very clean. Had terrific maid service- left 3 or 4 towel animals (started messing them up so she'd do a new one), left extra towels and rags without our request, placed the kids' stuffed animals in neat places daily, etc. We got sick with a stomach virus while there and she did a very, very thorough job of cleaning both rooms- changed sheets, cleaned bathrooms and sinks very well, disinfected entire room, etc. We had the best service we have ever had this trip!
Transportation was wonderful- waited one morning for 15 minutes- had just missed a bus. The rest of the time was 5 minutes usually at the most. Very efficient. We always had a seat (the men in the family gave up seats to others though) as we were always picked up in the mornings first. Two mornings the bus did not go to POR- just straight to the parks. Buses were also very frequent when leaving the parks, one after the other, didn't wait more than 5 minutes. Terrific bus service!
The only complaint I have about our stay were the workers in the food court- most did not speak English very well and we had a hard time communicating what we were ordering (that is probably at all resorts though!)
All in all- wonderful stay at POFQ. The grounds are so peaceful and relaxing. This is by far our favorite resort!!!

Thanks for the report! Glad you guys had a good time. Sorry to hear about the stomach virus ... been there, done that!
I LOVE to hear about the men standing and offering their seats! True gentlemen ... it's a real pet peeve of mine. I am teaching my DS the importance of chivalry.
My DW and I once visited when she was almost 8 months pregnant ["Hi, I'm Dave and I have a Disney addiction."] and no one offered her a seat when we were on a full monorail.

POFQ is beautiful isn't it! I loved the relatively "small" size compared to other WDW resorts. I remember when I was there, we had adjoining rooms (not connecting) also. No big deal for us as long as we're next to each other!

On my last trip, I brought Clorox wipes and wiped down "everything" I could in all of our rooms (3). Sorry to here your family caught a bug, and kudos to the staff for attentive cleaning!

Glad to hear that your trip went so well... excluding the virus thing.

The DW and I are ripping ourselves away from POR for the first time in several trips and staying at POFQ December. Reading your report doesn't make it seem like it's getting here any faster. We can't wait!

Buzz- we have stayed at POR and loved it too- but, we love POFQ soooo much more b/c it is so much smaller. The walks are so much shorter than at POR- and we had a great room location there. I think you will love POFQ- it is so compact and beautiful and the walks to the bus stop/food court are wonderful!
Yep- we wiped everything down when we got there too- dh started getting sick the very first day we were there- so we think he 'caught' it before we got to WDW. We made the best of it and kept going though!!! Thank goodness most everyone was sick at night and could trudge on the next morning....(thanks to phenergan and suppositories for ds )
