Hello! Because of the 30% off sale, I just switched our August reservations from the Port Orleans French Quarter to the Contemporary. We are now booked into two Garden Wing/Garden View rooms for a five night stay. It will be my husband, son, daughter-in-law, two granddaughters (8 and 6 years old), and me. Although I love the French Quarter theme, I thought thought the price increase was justified by the Contemporary being so close to the MK, and that it would be nice to have the convenience of being on the monorail. This seems to me to be a huge time saver with two young girls. Do you think I made a good decision? It will be my granddaughters' first visit to Disney World. Thanks for your opinions.

Yes, you made a good decision. The ability to walk back and forth from the MK if you want to is worth its weight in gold. I've stayed at both and there's no comparison.

Thank you! We're really looking forward to this trip, and to staying in a hotel so close to the Magic Kingdom.

depends how much more are you paying?

CR is worth it.

look at the activities list - you should get one when you check in - and may sure before you rush off the parks - there might be something your gk might enjoy doing - since most of these are in the afternoon - might be a good break for everyone.

Although I've never stayed at CR, we love being in the MK resort area. And with CR walking distance to MK and monorail to Epcot will be handy. Rooms are very large too. We've stayed at Poly & WL, and love being so close.

We just made the same decision for July! I think the CR garden wing was $75.00 more per night, which I thought was well worth it. We have only one park day before our cruise and wanted to
maximize our MK time. This is our first CR stay, as we usually stay at Poly or CSR.

With two young children, you will enjoy the CR. The MK is a short 10 minute walk. We stayed there when our children were young. We enjoyed walking to the MK and riding the monorail back.

We tried to take advantage of staying in the MK area by booking ADRs for nearby restaurants. Of course there is Chef Mickey's at the CR. 1900 Park Fair at the GF. We would take the boat to WL for Whispering Canyon and the boat to Fort Wilderness for HDDR.

We loved staying at the CR. I hope you do as well!

Great choice! Make sure you get a reservation for Chef Mickey's...the foods not great, but the kids will love it!

Thank you, everyone, for your feedback. I think I made the right decision, and you all confirmed it!
