POFQ to DD: walk?

I know we can take the boat (or a bus) from POFQ to DD. However, my BF is looking at the not-to-scale map of WDW in the back of the Birnbaum official guide and says it looks like we can walk from POFQ to DD. Is this, indeed, possible? How long would it take?

I guess You could walk but there are no sidewalks that i rememeber and it is a long walk not a direct route could not tell you how long it would take i would guess at least 30-45 minutes...

Distance is not the problem. There are no walking paths and it is not safe to walk on the roadways - too busy. Disney security often picks up guests who try.

The only safe place to walk from POFQ is to POR. Nice path along the canal.

Thanks, CarolMN and Ruttie. I figured that was the deal: I remember thinking when we were busing from ASMo to the parks that everything outside of a park or resort didn't look terribly pedestrian-friendly.

I can start now to convince BF that the boat will be the best way to get to DD!
