If you had a standard room at the POFQ what would you request and why? Certain buildings? Floors? Thanks in advance

I have a few thoughts. We love POFQ. It was the first Disney resort I stayed out, so it also has a special place in my heart.

I usually request buldings 4 or 5. We pay for a standard/garden view so if we are in 5 it's on the oppisite side from the pool. Last year we stayed in 4 and loved it. We walked down the stairs to the food court and could walk from the bus stop from the path right to our building, by passing the main area. I always ask for a room facing the courtyards and not the parking lots.

I think that any of those buildings are great. We have stayed in other buidlings, and the nice thing about POGFQ is that they are all close to everything. Once we had a water view facing the lake and it was beautiful. I loved it. We were upgraded that time, since the room we were assigned had been given away by the time it was ready (don't ask me).

We have had many great vacations there and can't wait for December!

I have requested a 1st floor because I have a stroller with me. I just don't want to wait for the elevator all the time. :)

Is it noisy on the first floor with people above you?

Are the rooms on the 3rd floor any different? Specifically, higher ceilings?

1st floor can be noisy - just depends who's above you. If you want a 2nd or 3rd floor request a room near an elevator. I like the first floor and have never had a big problem with noise.

for more opinions :bounce:
Are "corner rooms" any different?

I have a question about corner rooms, too...Are all corner rooms Kings or are some doubles?

To answer your question, Lisa, corner rooms have two windows which "opens up the room" a bit.

Anyone know about the bed sizes for the corner rooms?

Thanks!

At POR there are corner rooms with both king beds and double beds. I'll bet POFQ is similar. The corner room size isn't any different. The big plus is the extra window. It makes the room brighter and it seems bigger. :p

Like Tink, POFQ was the first resort I stayed at (on my first "real" vacation 2 years ago. The first time I stayed at a Disney resort was when I was 2...so I don't remember much). With that said, there really isn't a bad building in POFQ. The area of the resort is smaller than most resorts so it doesn't take too long to get somewhere. The first time I stayed at the POFQ it was in building 6. I had a 2nd floor room looking directly at the Beaux Regard Squar, very nice and peacefull. With the occasional children running past the room in their excited state, I didn't have any problems with noise. My second trip, last August, I had a corner room. This room was in building 4 looking into the garden area facing the main building, and unlike most corner rooms, this one did not have a second window. My room was next to the room with ice and coke machines. The room had 2 double beds and was for the most part quiet. I hope this helps.
