POFQ Review

Opening day was great! They only opened a small amount of room each day so it was like having the resort to yourself. The food court was empty. There was no one in the check in line! Luggage arrived within 10 minutes. When I called about the medical fridge I requested, it was delivered within 5 minutes. I did not use bus transportation. The room was large. It was a corner room with 2 windows and one king bed. It "felt" larger than WL but I know it is not. The toilet flushed REALLY LOUD. Like on a cruise ship or airplane. At night, you could hear other toilets flushing. On the thrid night, we were awoken around 3AM because the toilet was bubbling. We could not figure out why. The next morning, the toilet would not flush and backup was coming in the bathtub. I called the front desk and they sent someone to fix it. On two different days, mousekeeping had not cleaned the room when we came back to take a nap around 4 PM.
It was nice to stay in a "brand new" resort but I like the deluxes much better.

Did you like the decor of the new rooms and did you visit the pool - ? has anything changed at the pool ?

Leopardspot what do you like better about deluxes ? We had a choice to stay at a deluxe 2 weeks or 2 rooms at a moderate for 2 weeks. I had a split stay arranged then my DH protests I must pick one hotel as he cant be bothered with packing and unpacking again.
I opted for 2 rooms at the moderate - POFQ. I figured it has a great waterslide, boat to DD, new rooms, foodcourt with plenty of choice, hot tub. transport is not an issue now since DH decided we needed a hire car so he can 'escape' WDW

Deluxes have valet parking. The food court had FQ was not very good (maybe because it was opening week?) The line for the boat to DD was very long so we drove. The "NEW" rooms were nice but they are only new until the first person checks in. That is the main reason why I stayed there. I just feel like the deluxes cater to guests more. I saw the pool but it was too cold to go in...although there were a few people swimming. I do not know if it changed becasue I never stayed there before. I LOVE the bedspreads!

How would you describe the size of refrigerator provided for medicine? Did you request the appliance in advance?

The fridge was the same as other guests would get. Yes, I requested it in advance and when I got to my room and saw that it was not there, I called the front desk and it was delivered right away.

Just wondering in the refurb, did they put in new bathtubs, ceramic walls in the shower area, and toilets?
