I have been comparing moderate resorts and am focusing on POFQ. I always thought it would be nice to stay there because of its size and charm. However the pool turns me off. Do adults like this pool? I thought the pool at CS was very nice so maybe I should switch my ressies. Any thoughts from those of you who have seen the real deal? Thanks:wave:

I have to agree with you on this one. I realize POFQ is a very small resort compared to the other moderates but a quiet pool would have been nice for those that don't want to swim with a Sea Serpent.

I love the pool at CS and you have 3 quiet pools that are really nice also. I also like the pools at Riverside.

Hi We just came back from french quarter last week. I saw lots of adults in the pool, and around the pool. There are little sections away from the serpent.

But I like a quiet pool also, and said to my hubby that there was a huge grass area between two buildings, I forget which ones, and that would be a perfect place for the quiet pool.

My adult son was with us and would take the boat over to riverside and use the quiet pools there, as he was studying, but also likes the non theme pools.

I do have to say that we just loved our stay there, and having the options of both resorts riverside/french quarter, food courts, games rooms, pools or just walking around, was great. The rooms were decorated so nice, they just blew us away, alot more than I had expected. The curtain to divide the room was a great addition, all the resorts should have something like that.

We loved having the boat on the river to go visit downtown disney, or just take a ride. The horse and carriage was so quaint.

We visited C.S. it is also a very lovely resort, very pretty, but for me it was too hot, not enough shade, the heat really bothers me.

Deb,

If you were going when it is not too hot, like at Christmas, would you prefer CS? I agree with you that I would not want to be at CS when it is really warm as there doesn't appear to be a lot of cover and there can be a lot of walking involved. I'm not good in a lot of heat either. Thanks. I am glad to see I'm not the only one who isn't crazy about the serpent pool. If my children were younger than I 'm sure I would feel differently.:sunny:

Hi:

I just talked it over with my son and we both agreed if it was not a hot time then the colder months of dec, jan, feb, march then you would appreciate the sun on you. Yes I would go there then.

I think I am an exception with problems with the heat, highblood pressure and a little overweight, lol, on the otherhand my hubby loves the heat, and could be in it all day.

They did have a nice mister fan near the games rooms, which we all went under. Maybe there are more, it was just a quick look. Like I said it was a very beautiful resort. I did not get into the foodcourt though.

I would fax a room request if you are able to and do research and find a building close to whatever you want pool, eating area etc.

I have to say though I thought I would not like french quarter but booked it because of the new rooms, we just loved it, especially for the boat trip, which hubby and I took many times. We do more off park days then in park days, so the resorts are important for just relaxing.

My son also added if you don't want to use the serpent pool, just take the boat to riverside or walk over to the many quiet pools at the riverside, he did not mind doing that. Hubby used the serpent pool, and I had such a bad hair time this visit to florida, I decided not to swim, but sat out at the serpent pool, lol,

Thanks for the great info Deb. I really appreciate it. When it is really hot out there nothing matters to me. We stayed at The BCV's when they first opened in the summer. What a great resort and so close to Epcot but the weather was too hot for me . I felt sick outside the whole time. My DH also loves the heat but even he couldn't stand it. So I don't think we will be doing summers in Disney ever again:( Funny though, next June DH has a convention at CSR. I am thinking of going even though I swore I would not go again:crazy: )

I will have to mill over all of this before I decide but I think I may switch out of POFQ. If we do stay I keep your sons advise about the other pools in mind :)

Hi: You know what, if my husband had a convention there, in june, hot or not, I would go also, who would want to miss a chance at such a wonderful place. Have a great trip.

Deb.
