DD (13) and I will be visisting the world in October to celebrate her birthday and are trying to make a final decision on accomodations (and getting DH to spring for the cost of POFQ). So give me your pros and cons for both POFQ and POP. Thanks so much :goodvibes

I have stayed at both and loved both.

As far as pros for POFQ: small, quiet, New Orleans charm, beautifully landscaped, pool with sea serpent slide, walking distance to Riverside with another pool and sit-down restaurant, and slightly larger rooms with fridges and ceiling fans. Cons: small gift shop and small food court.

POP pros: fun atmosphere, great food court with much larger selection, large gift shop. Cons: lots of rooms (meaning the potential for lots of people), slightly smaller rooms with no fridge.

Having said that, I originally booked POFQ for our June trip, but the kids really wanted to go stay at Pop again. So, we decided to book Pop instead. Everyone is happy with the choice for various reasons: DH because it saves money, the kids because they love the pools and the atmosphere, and me because of the food court selections.

I have also stayed at both. For 3 years in a row we stayed at POFQ, but last summer we stayed at Pop, and we're going back there again in May.

POFQ is quieter, although when we stayed at Pop in June, we had a preferred room and never heard a sound. I like the pool area better at Pop. They are both nice resorts, but I kind of prefer Pop. Not only is it cheaper, but I thought the food at the food court tasted better and there is a lot more of a variety. Also, buses seemed to be more frequent at Pop, where as we always had to wait quite a while at POFQ. Just my opinion- we just had more fun at Pop; it's more Disney-ish :woohoo:

I've also stayed at both. POFQ is small, has the cute New Orleans atmosphere, and the boat to DTD. However, their buses share with PORS and the bus service did not seem to be as good as at POP. Both only have a food court, but POP's is MUCH better. POFQ has begneits, but POP has frozen slushies:cloud9: . For a kid POP is really cute, although the slide at POFQ is pretty cool. If I was taking my GD she would hands down prefer POP. In fact I have taken her to WL and POP and she preferred POP--go figure:confused3 .

I've stayed at both and was actually torn between the two for my trip this coming August. I had a reservation at POP and then changed it to POFQ. When we stayed at POP, my DD was about your DD's age and she loved it there. I did as well. Great theming, large food court, nice pools. I think your DD would definitely prefer POP over POFQ. Now my DD is 16 and prefers POFQ however. I do miss those frozen Cokes at POP on a hot afternoon!:drinking1

POFQ hands down. I like the POP, but not the beds! POFQ is so much more comfortable in my opinion.

I have stayed at POFQ many times and at POP twice. I must say that my last trip to POFQ was very disappointing. Although it was recently remodeled the housekeeping is horrible. Bathrooms have mold and dirty shower curtains. Floors in the room was filthy.

Sorry to say that POFQ was always my first choice but this last trip in January for the marathon will have me looking at other resorts.
